Binary cures, and benefits derived from its use, under the di.
roctiou of its illustrious orii:inator, Dr. Howland, among art
classes of European society, apd from the immense mass cl
testimony, (rem all parts of the American continent, soca•
mulcted during the last ten years, in the hands of the prce.
out proprietor. The prevalence of diseases to which the
German Bitters are adapted, it is with sorrow we say it, Is al
most universal; indeed there is scarcely a family throughout
the whole extent otour country in which there cannot be
found among its members that peculiar sallow and languid
appearance denoting a diseased Liver, or an emaciated and
suffering Dyspeptic.
Then of what immense importance to this class of invalid
that a certain and reliable remedy should be placed with'
their reach; one in which no baneful or injurious drug en
tars into its composition; a remedy on which the patient can
rely with the utmost confidence and certainty, and be assured
from actual and tangible proofs that the article he is using
really possesses the virtues attributed to it. Such a remedy
as "HOOFLAND'S GERMAN BITTERS." Thousands o
dollars have been expended in its manufacture and diffusion
throughout all parts of this continent, and the proprietor
feels the greatest satisfaction in stating that there is no
state, county, or even village, where the Medicine has been
Introduced, that there cannot be found numbers willing
testify to its virtues.
It is used constantly In the practice of a large manlier o
the most prominent Physicians in the country, who have
also added their written testimony in evidence of its great
virtues. in conclusion, thou, we would respectfully ask 01
all those afflicted with any of the above diseases to give no.
Bitters a trial, and rest assured it will never be regretted.
in proof of the statements above made, all are invited to
read attentively the Almanac published annually by the pro
prietor, for Farmers and Families, containing a,great num.

of the Bitters, from the moat prominent and sell known in
dividuals in all ports of the Union. All Agents for the Bit

WHEN A CURE IS GUARANTEED IN

arising from a derangement of the Sexual Organs, such to
nervous trembling, loss of memory, loss of power, general
weakness, dimness of vision with peculiar spots appearing
before the eyes, loss of sight, wakefulness dyspoi‘sitt, liver
diseases, eruptions upon the fain, pain in the back and head,
female irregularities and all improper discharges from both
Sexes. It matters not from what cause the disease origina
ted, however long standing or obstinate the case, recovery is
certain, and in a shorter time than a permanent cure can be
effected by any other treatment, even after the disease has
baffled the skill of eminent physicians and resisted ail the i
means of cure. The melraletnes are pleasant without odor,
causing no sickness and free from mercury or balsam. Dur
ing twenty years of practice, I have rescued from the jaws
of death many thousands, who, in the last stages of the
above mentioned diseases had boon given up to die by their
physicians, which warrants nio in promising to the afflicted,
who may place Guauselves under my care, a perfect and
most speedy cure. Secret diseases are the greatest enemies
to health, as they are the first cause of Consumption, Sero•
fula and many other diseases, and should be a terror to the
human family. An a permanent cure is scarcely over effect
ed, a majority of the cases falling into the halide of incom
petent persons, who not only tail to cure the diseases but
ruin the constitution, filling the system with mercury,
which, with the disease, hastens the sufferer into a rapid
Consumption.
But should the disease and the treatment od't cause death
speedily, and the victim marries, the disease is entailed
upon the children, who are born with feeble constitutions,
and the current of life corrupted by a virus which betrays
itself in Scrofula, Totter, Ulcers, Eruptions and other effete
tiiffis of the skin, ilea, throat and lunge, entailing upon
them a brief existence of suffering and consigning them tel
an early grave.

possibility of their prevention and removal, and likewise in
variably found that the most horrible and mangnant forms
of disease could almost always be traced to one of the fol

skilful and improper treatment; therefore, Dr. AMOS &

remedies, a Safe, effectual, and cautious course; omitting all
combination of remedies which boar an equivocal character,
as well as those whose premature or inJuoicieus application
might be prodiictivs of bad consequences in the hands of
private individuals. - In short, the, laudible end of their re
