She "pd.. 01" canduhli, Surotimr General
This Laporte is a young sprig of the law, and
might he supposed to have read the constitution
of this State. But he either had not, or cl , e
was willing to pass an act clearly and itilmitteilly
unconstitutional. And the design of that art
was to make the necroes of this State voters,
and ph le e them upon an equal footing with the
white people. iboroughly was he an aboli
tionist then; and he is vomiting abolitionism
from the stump daily now.
Such is the man the Fillmore men, who call
themselves national, are expected to support with
all their voter a week from to day.
Let the Flllm , :re men north, ooutb, tat and
west of l'enn, ylvania note the fact, and say
whether if they o the ildog, are
not as thoroughly abolitionists as is the Fremont
party.
The great aim of the Fremont party is to
elevate the black race, necessarily at the expense
of the white; and• the election of " fusion"
State ticket in this State is looked upon as the
first step in the promotion of that design. The
result of the vote ou Tuesday next willtell wheth
er Fillmorettes ha any real existence in this
State, or whether they are all abolitionists in
disguise. Phelps and Cochran are the other
candidates on that woolly head ticket. They,
too, are abolitionist., out laboring in the same

FIFTH 11 AR rl _There was

.which was well attended : and it was addressed

We have heard it spoken ,f a one of the moat
conciliatory and convincing speeches yet heard
in that part of our city.
HON. DANIRL S. DICKINSON, of New York, has
bee❑ compelled to relinguish his engagements
upon the stump, in consequence of ill health.

HATFIELD MEETINII.—The Democrats held rt
meeting at 'Hatfield, beyond Lawrenceville, Oil
Saturday evening. Hon. It P. Flenniken made
a powerfnl and excellent speech, which was re

from lowa whose name we have not learned fol

where Judge Shannon made one of his best

COUNTERFEITERS ANT) IMPOSTERS.—The public
are cautioned against purchasing articles pre

of that article . has brought forward a host of
counterfeiters. None is genuine unless signed

The Trenton True American says :
