MONDAY MORNING Muss Convention at Greensburg There is every indication that the Democracy from this region will visit the Mass Convention to be held in Greensburg, Tuesday, (to-morrow,) in large numbers. Mr. Scott, of the Pennsylva nia Central Road, has agreed to run an extra train on Tuesday, at 9:30 in the morning, for the accommodation of those who wish to attend. Ex cursion tickets have been issued, which may be had at the depot. The officers and members of the Buchanan and Breckinridge ward clubs of this and Allegheny city are requested to meet this evening at Wilkina Hall, to make arrange ments for Tuesday. A punctual attendance is very desirable. Democratic Meeting at the City Hall on Friday Night. The following was read by Mr. Kerr and received with ationte of approbation by the assembled De mocracy. Now is the time fur the. voters of each township to do their whole duty, when fair woman prompts them to action by offering as a testimonial of their respectful regards, the National Flag of their country. MR. R. ii. Kann—Dear Sir:—You will please make it known that a Committee of ladies have pro cured a Stand of Silk Colors, the emblem of our Na tion's Pride, " the Stara and Stripes," that were never lowered to a foreign or yet a domestic foe. We present for acceptance the same, as a token of our regard, to the township casting the largest vote in proportion to the vote polled for the Democratic State pl',:ket. We admire the principles and bearing of men who stand by their ct..lntry in tae time of danger, and we are p rou d t o say th at Democrats are never found pro scribing their fellow-cit':' vs on account of birth place or religion. We do not love the Americas. Government less because we arc devoted to our pa reQ t, who were born in a foreign land. Our duty is clear to ci.log to both with the lose and adoration of dutiful elaildres: of the mothers of - Ttl. Respectfully, ,tc. The Committee, Messrs. li.otr, Campbell and Ben net, offer the follo , ving : Res , dr-t, That it is with pride we aerept this taste ful Flag Rom the hard• of a rommittoe of ladies, to be given to the town. casting the lore , st rote in proportion to the 1. i't• polled for the lteinoms.tos State tioltet, oatup ise geotlem marthy of the confidence and rot,: of every Deinoorat in the State. We tako pleasure in stating that the Flitb will be presented in person by ens the fair donors. Due notice of time and place will be given. Inaprored Carrinyc 11.. b.—We had intended, in our notices of useful inventions on exhibition at the late Fair, to notice "Nycum's Improved Cart-iron Carriage Hub," and only omitted to do so for want of spare. That it is a very great improvement on those now in use we are led to believe, not only from personal examination, but aloe from the testi mony of a number of friends who have tried it for two years past, and who give it an unqualified en dorsement The value of the improvement consists more particularly in the fact that, to remove a spoke from the wheel, it can be taken out without cutting the tire, by simply unscrewing the nuts and taking off the back shell. Now, in wooden and all other hubs, a broken spoke necllssitates the cutting of the tire and a separation of the felloes, to get the dam aged part. The improved hub ran be made much cheaper than the wooden one, and as easily cast, as it is done without a prepared core. It is also the lightest metal hub yet invented. Wade Hampton, NA'., of this city. has Nycum's hub in use, and gives it unqualified praise; so also has Dr. Funden berg. of Somerset, Pa.: John Holmes, livery man, of Uniontown, Pa.. and a host of others. Bunting A. Ilell, of the National Road Stage Line, state that the tire wore out before it was necessary to re-set it, and that the hub holds oil better than the wooden. having a middle channel (Ur that purpose.
