T MENEM ' , Among the most useful articles on exhibition is LAAGSTROTH'S patent Bee Rive, which is certainly the most useful and best adapted for the purposes in tended that we have ever seen. The patentee in forms us that he spent screnteen yrart experimenting before the discovery of his patent. Its great supe riority to all other hives in use consists in the Apia rian having the entire control over all the combs.— an) or all of the combs eau be taken out at pleasure, without injury to the combs ur enraging the bees in the least. It is adapted to swarms of all sizes, being made large or smaller, at pleasure, in a moment. It furnishes the greatest possible security against the ravages of the bee moth. But to enumerate farther would be useless, as its great superiorty to a'l other /lives now in use has bean clearly proven by the tes timony of some of the principal bee keepers in the country. Visitors should by sit means examine this invention. L. 0. Camcnov. -This gentleman exhibits three ramat galvanised Ovens, whieh attract consideralde attention. Air. The arrivals of strangers yesterday was very large, and the principal hotels are already overflowing. One train from the East, which came in at 2 P. M., brought upwards of eleven hundred people. The number of entries is already numerous beyond any fair ever held here, b ut• in consequence of the rain, It. C. Walker, Esq.,l he Secretary, has announced the time as continued until Wednesday morning at 12 o'clock, when the books will be closed. The busi ness office of the Society is at the grounds, where the Committee of Arrangement, with the Treasurer and Secretary, will be found. Of animals, so numerous were the entries that, not withstanding the preparation, more than fifty new stalls bad to be erected yesterday. As the entries will not be oomplated before to-day, we can only give an imperfect list, remarkhlr: that the display of every thing promises to equal the expectations of the most sanguine. DANFORD'S REAPER This machine is on exhibition, and attracts con siderable attention. It is on the "clipping" princi ple, and, as will be better understood, has two rick lee working in opposite directions. It cuts very smooth ly, and is less lidble to choke or cl ig than any other in use. We shall have more to say of this Reaper so.morrow. MANNY'S COMBINED ItEAPEB This machine, of which a larger number have been sold the past year than any other patent, is on exhi bition, from the manufacturers, at Chautatique, N. who own the right to manufacture in the western part of thin State. Having had some experience in the use of these machines, both is this State and in Illi nois, and used them iu all kinds of grain and grass, on both rough and smooth ground, we can speak un derstandingly of their real utility. In mechanism, as in any thing else, the best test of a theory in its practical results. Judging from this rule. no further notice is needed, as there have been several thou• sands sold in the past year, and we have yet the fink instance to note of one being returned.
