"SLAVERY AGGRESSION."
Fools talk about slavery as though it was
making constant aggressions. But all eensilde
men know that precisely the reverse is the case.
Seventy years ago every State in the Union hut
one were slave States. Now sixteen are free
States, and but fifteen slave States. In less then
five years seven territories will be admitted as
free States ; to wit, Minnesota, Nebraska, Wash
ington, Oregon, Utah, New Mexico and Kansas.
Teen there will be twenty-three free States and
fifteen slave States. Then the Senate will stand
—from free States 16 ; from slave States 30.
Then the House of Representatives will stand
almost two to one from, tree States. That is
what abolition spoutere call n slavery aggres
sion." Delaware will soon be a free State, too ;
and probal);y Missouri. Does not every one see
that the black republican stories about slavery
aggression are simply lies.
THAT FILLMORE MEETING
The Fil more meeting at City Hall last nigilt
was rather a serious affair. That hall is said to
hold 3,600. If so, it was pretty well filled. We
1 at 9 o'clock. Up to that time the ration
sentiment prevailed. The break in the Fremont
column in New York was referred to.

There never was a time when so ninny or such large
Democratic meetings were held in this county as
this year. We hear of several meetings every day
and evening, and the most encouragirrg accounts
come from them all. Those that we see aro most
stittsfil«ory for numbers, and for the spirit
manifested. Occa.ionally a few boys and men
attempt a disturbance; but no puny and coward
ly is the effort that it is generally laughed at.
If it becomes • serious they are bustled out in a
way that makes it sore there will be no repeti
tion of the insolence.
Make a few r::uop]•_e of them, Donocrate,
and this abolition War against " free speech "
will be at an end.
A CORILESPONDEST from Louisville, Stark
county, Ohio, informs us that the recent liemo
cratic mass meeting at Massillon, was one of the
krgest ever held in Ohio. Quite a number of
'Lauds were erected, several distinguished speak
ers were in attendance, and much enthusiasm
manifested. Thu Demo. racy claim Ohio with

White folks shoved back to make room
for niggers.
A cotemporary tleucribes the following inci
dent which occured at the Fremont Da'beetle in
Iti,rgan county, Michigen :
The most charicteristic port of the whole
affair occured at the table : A mechanic who
had hitherto been a strong Fremont man was on
the ground with his wife and child. At a given
word he attempted to cross the rope to the table ;
but was met by cue orf the marshals and told to
stand back and give room for the ladies. lie
stepped back as he was told, when seven or eight
women, " as black as the ace of spades," advan
ced before him to the table, and ate with the rest
of the Fremont ladies and gentlemen. 'Dais was
too much for him. lie tore the Fremont badge
from his breast, and sorer , that although he was
a poor mechanic, he w:l9 yet a little better than
a negro. Ile sail that if he and his wife were

mont man : and immediately stamped the Fre
mont badge under his feet and declared his in
tention to vote for Buchanan. We are informed
Hist four or five others did likewise. It is said
that notless than twenty negroes ate at the first
1 table.,,
What do our mechanics ? what do our labor
ng men think of the indignity above described ?
such is, however, the enevitable tendency of
Mack Ropublicanisin. The creed of that party
is "down with the white 'man, and up with the
nigger." It is high time that the laboring nit]]
of the North should see the consequence of the
success of the special negro sympathizers. Let
three millions of slaves he liberated and they
would fall upon the people of the North as did
the locusts upon the Egyptians. Our people.
too, would regard the swarm of blacks as great
an infliction as did those of Egypt the swarm of
insects. If Pennsylvania should receive no mot e
than her proportion, her citizens would be laves
festol with about half a million.
What effect would euch legions of indigent
orentures have upon the wages paid for manual
labor" Is it not obvious that Dm price would
he greatly diminished ? That portion which
would fail to obtain employment, would become
a charge upon the comninnities in wt ich they
shi,uld be. Our poor Imtn , es, if not sum- pri.ous
would be Idled, and increased taxation wo u ld

TROMEII.I; IN THE CAMP."—The New York
Herald, the leading Black Republican organ in
the United States, repudiates the nominatin of
John A. King, the Fremont candidate for Gov

the Democratic nominee, iu his stead. A large
portion of the "North Americans, - as the also
litienized Know Nothings are termed, dissatisfied
with the action of the Convention that nominated
King, have resolved to support the Fillmore
ticket. This dissatisfaction autl secession in
New York is alarming to the Disunionists, and
'itfords corroborative evidence that the vote of
that powerful State will be given to Buchanan
and Breckinridge in November next.
Movements of the President,
CONCORD, N. li., September 25.—The Patriot of
this morniog states that President Pierce will arrive
here on the morning of October 211, and in view of
the fact that the citizen, have declined to extend to
him a public welcome, it calls upon the Democrats
throughout the State to make arrangements for the
proper reception of their distinguished visitor.
