C. WALKER, Secretary. Flag Preenntation.—This morning an interisting scone is to be enacted at the Fremont head-quarters. A flag. represented to be a tribute of admiration from the ladies of the Third Ward, is to be presented to the delegation from that Ward which takes part in the parade of to-day. We speak of what we know when we say that the whole thing is a false pretence, unworthy of any party unless it is the one which is trying to elect a man President by a series of false pretences the most flagrant that have ever been attempted to be palmed off on an enlightened people. On Wednesday ittat a meeting of the female teachers of the Ward alluded to was held fur the purpose of raising the flag aforesaid by fifty cents subscriptions ; and moat of them did subscribe--although several did so unwillingly—as it might be impolitic not to do so in a-ward where five-sixths of the Directors from whom they receive their appointments are avowed Republicans. But when the matter was exposed in a morning paper, the gotteraup of the concern ob tained the subscriptions of a few ladies residing in the vicinity, and now it is to be presented as the gift of the Third Werd ladies, although a number of the female teachers reside in other parts of the city. John M. Kirkpatrick, whom we had supposed was a member of the American Order, is to present it on behalf of the Republican ladies of the ward. We hope he will say nothing in his speech to wound the sensibilitio, of cur foreign born citizens, otherwise, Messrs. Noah and liackofon may refuse to assist the editor of the Cominercial Journal in carrying that banner in the procession to-day. Assmolts and Mate ry.--3ohn Gallagher, for beat ing and striking a t Hugh Harrison with us knife, was arrested and taken before Alderman Parkinson, who held him to answer in $3OO bail The offence was committed last Wednesday evening Thomas Clark, a canal boat Captain for boating Susan West, a frail feminine, was held to bail in n like sum James bignon, his son, Shaw Kearney and others for assaulting Andrew Ileatherstun, were all bound over. These cases all came off at Alderman Parkin son's office AI derman Wilson bald Daniel Graham to bail for a gracious attack on Benj. Myers. Graham is a steamboat engineer and Myers is a deck-hand, and the affair occurred some time ago on a trip to t his city. The Huee,bulGuard..— This company, composed o f a large number of genteel colored men, paraded o n Monday evening, and made a very martial ap pearance. We understand on sober second thought i t has been concluded not to allow them to take part iu the parade to-day, as a number of the Fremont party, it is feared, are not sufficiently nigger-wor shippers to affiliate with these Black Republicans just yet. It is hoped, however, they will get over their prejudices by degrees, so that by the time the next mass convention is held the Hannibal Guards will he assigned the post of honor. Theatre.—T here was a very excellent attendance last evening to witness the performance of Macbeth —Mr. and Mrs. Conway in the two leading chars*. tors. Although Mr. C. was laboring under aboarse ness his rendition of this arduous part was frequent- ly applauded and at the end of the play they were • both. culled out. Tho performance this evening Is "ingomar, the Barbarian,"--a part in which be is 4 said to be pecularly successful. From what we hare PCOII of Mrs. Conway we should suppose, too, she I'. would make au admirable Parthenia. Railroad .Heeling.—Thero is to be a monthly meeting of the Directors of the Pittsburgh and Chi cago Railroad to-day, and we notice among t h e mem bers of the Board in town Messrs. J. Edgar Thomp son, C. T. Sherman, John R. Larrill and others The first train through to Chicago on this read is expected to leave this city about the first day of De cember. lAdvertioemoontl attention of strangers and others visiting the city to-day is directed to tie splendid assortment of ladies? clOaks, 'mantillas and taimas, together with a large stock, of fancy dry. golds, wit* luid at A- Mo t: Tighis;'coivier'oi Grint and Fifth strict!.
