It is their duty to make a visit annually to all the Chapters in the State, and these gentlemen were on their annual tour, har ing arrived from Erie vin the Beaver and Erie Ca nal, on Saturday night tiround will be broken this week fur the new stork hotel, which is to be erected at this place. It will be a very large and beautiful structure, and greatly add to the aurae— iciness of the town ...... Since the burning down of the Merrick House, at Now Brighton, the need of such a hotel as that proposed to be erected at Roch ester, has been sorely felt. Many persons who de sire to spend much of their time in the hot season at some accessible point out of town, are now deterred by the inferior hotel accommodations We are ex tremely sorry to learn that the new Lutheran Church building for the Rev. W. A. Passarant, is languish ing for the want of the one thing needful in erecting temples to the 31....5t 11..gh. It is two-thirds up, and 'the excellent pastor has himself already given nearly two hundred dollars towards its erection, yet for want of the remaining third, the congregation atii compelled t , worship in it sellout house, with a poor prospect 01 coon bettering their condition. In yow lore] columns yester day, it it stated that Bingham is at preeent enjoying himself in the neighborhood of St. Anthi•,- ny's Folk and will be away about nix weeks. - Whether this announcement—which is grossly incur rei•t— won dictated by personal hostility towards the Chief Magistrate of the city, the writer cannot say : though, judging from what follow• in the sl,rt part graph referred to. about the exectaise department of the city being a mistake this veer, it seems highly probable. It is well known that Mr. Itti.t4. ^To ilt , l not seek for, nor even desire the office of Nlayos and it seems rather ungenerous, now that he is absent },u-mess.—whether official or private—on a thin, weeks tour during the "heated term," he should, un consciously, be aubjected to this Parthian warfate. TES,, week: , absence, at most, was all he proposed, on the writer is reliably informed. Two of these have passed, ar.d be is expected home during the itr, sent week. Such absence has been a customary thing with former Mayors, and it is believed that, hitherto, it ha. never elicited unfriendly remark. As we belie', that all parties should be heard, we givc the above an insertion under that rule. The writer, however, is mud: ini-italien if he supposes us i ns ti ga ted by malice. This paper is otherwise employed than in iireading malicious reports.
