Eaton, FAR, of Pittsburgh, and consider them very . pauch superior to any thing of the kind we have ever need. Treasurer Ohio Tool Company. Columbus, Ohio, November 27,1856- uP24 [From the New York Scientific American.) Patent Finishing Plane. Thth invention is intended for nse where it Is desired to im part a fine, smooth, and glossy surface to the wood; but it is applicable, with advantage, to all kind of carpenter's pliers. The novelty consists in placing the "sitting chisel, or bit, in front of the wedge, instead of behind, ea in common plane*, also in applying a metallic mouth-piece to the Law of the plane, la front of the chisel, which mouth piece serves as the rest for the chisel, and confines the throat of the plane. But the mouth piece is to close to the edge of the bit as to present the plane from ripping or splintering the wood in the least degree. Indeed, we have seen the implement ap plied to the planing of wood against the grain, and thane venal' , to the grain, leaving the wood perfectly smooth. So perfect is the operation of this instrument. that it may be ap plied to the planing of veneers—with entire eaters--a thing which cannot safely be done by the common plums. The peculiar arrangement of the month piece, bit, end wedge, affords a complete and fins hearing for the bit throughout its whole 'length, and dig under all el, cumstanres, with the use of a cap or nble t. This is a very Ample and effective improvement, destined, ge have no doubt, to nod its way Into every carpenter'', shop in the land No tool cheat is complete without It. The in ventor is Wm. C. This is more than can be said of Quinine, Arsenic, or any 'tonic in existence, as their Tale fs nrrinous to theconstitution and brings on Dumb Aloe, whictrnever allows a person to feel perfectly well for a single moment. In illuttration of these truths I annex some extracts from a. letter just received from a Physician OLORGINOWN, Ohio, Mira 17,1.8513. JAS. A. RHODES, Esq.--Dear 131 r Youratif2d.tuat. hand. The Cure arrived late last year and the &Vitality in getting any one to try ft roes greatly ingvised - rtopi be fact that a remedy heel been introduced which wasgrOwing In favor with the public, se being better than mdtig Quinine —not knowing I. presume that the remedy they used to e e cape taking Quinine, contained the drug itself I This remedy, known as Smith's Tonic, would invariati.y break an ague, but it did not cure it, as it would often re turn with renewed vigor. T 613 one circumstance I deemed in your favor, if I could institute a test comparison bet*een it and your Cure. The following is the remit:. • Three paeans took your Cure, all of which Were, siniee ,of Quotidian Intermittent Fever, of many weeks standing. They had trial Quinine, and other remedies, occaelOnally miming a chill, but it was (as in all such casesyskerly-wear ing them out, and laying the foundation of other andeeve rer maladies. I did succeed in iffecting a radical care of all three of these caws with your remedy, and they. have not had a chill since. In all three of those . Oases the Sinlth's Tonic had been used, and would, me before stated, break the chill, but after a period or two had elapsed it would return: I think there will be nu difficulty now in giving to. your Cur , the vantage ground of any other remedy now in use here, &c., Ac. WILLIAM BUCHNER, M. D, ItIIODES' FEVER and AGUE CURE, or ANTIDOTE TO MALARIA, the only harmless remedy In existence, Is equally certain ae n PREVENTIVE, as a CURE.
