It is already admitted that he will get all the conservative portion of the community, but from what we see, Young America is even more enthusias tic. Yesterday morning, while returning from break fast, we met two specimens of the latter genus, who, "with shining morning faces, and satchel on the arm, were creeping like snails unwillingly to school." They were evidently incipient politicians, and sa we were opposite, we overheard the following dialogue : "I say, Bob, do you know where I eau get some tar barrels?" "No, I do not. But what are you going to do with tar barrels, Sam?" " Why. you coo, Bob, I think Old Buck is going to be nominated, to-day, and I think we ought to have a grand jolification." We did not wait to find out whether Sam got the the much-desired combustible or not, but hope his patriotic aspirations were not disappointed. Bertrfit of Mott Peel.—That favorite Troupe, the Campbell Minstrels, give their last performance in this city to-night, on which occasion Malt Peel, the funny and inimitable darkey delineator, presents his claims for a benefit. The deserved reputation uhich Mr. Peel enjoys as one of the very best performers in his profession, has been well sustained during the present stay of the Campbells here, and we feel sat isfied his many friends will not fail to respond heart ily to-nighL The performances of the Campbells have been pronounced the best ever given in this city, and this has been owing, in no slight degree, to the efforts of the present beneficiary, wh• never falls to bring down the house when he makes his appear ance upon the stage. An excellent bill is offered, including several of their burlesques. This is the last opportunity to see the most amusing band in the country, and those who desire good seats should at tend early. Extensive Confingreainot. — A destructive conflagra tion broke out in Duquesne Borough yesterday morn ing, and before it could be subdued consumed prop erty valued at upwards of $4,000. The building first destroyed was a large frame building known us Gregg A. Morrow's keg factory. Loss sl,ooo—no insurance. Next three adjoining frame dwellings became food fur the devouring element. They were owned by Mr. Thos. Wright and occupied by Gregg A Morrow, a Mr. Porter and a Mr. Beynon ; worth sl,ooo—no insurance—furniture saved. Some con. tiguous two story bricks caught fire, and the insides pretty much consumed. They were occupied by the Misses Irwin, Mr. J. Itenet.erger, nod by David !tenon, wlo insured or $2,000.
