The hotel proper wiil stand alike on Brighton
and New York streets, at thesoutheast angle of the

The principal approach and entrance from the
the Railroads and the river, will be at the angle
of these two streets, at the senate:rust corner ,of
the building aniftbe block, by a series of stairs
and terraces up to the basement, which will, itself,
farm the upper terrace. From this basement will
he an inside stair way and entrance to the vesti
bule, and to a still larger central urea, on the
principal floor; from which corridors an !passa
ges will extend around and through the two
wings, and to the several stories and apartments
above and below.
The ladies' approach will be from Pinney
street, by easy walks or carriage ways, up
Brighton street, or New York streets, to Pinney
s tree t.
The basement will be seen only from the south
and east, and will not extend under the principal
building, but stand in
. front of it, on a lower
level finning the upper terrace, of the side bill
, lope , ---the principal edifice being,itself entirely
the level plain, at the top of the feet
above the streets. The roof of this basement
will of course be flat, a little lower than the
principal flour of the main building, and will be
walked user as we walk upon a side walk, in a
city, it being entirely in front of the three story
building, which *ill stand back, the , full width
of the basement.

change, the principal office of the establishment,
the bar room; post office, telegraph office, read
ing rooms, writing rooms, barber room, bath

fur ladies and gentlemen, on the American plow,

culinary and domestic operations, with bakery
and pastry room, cook room, wash room, laun
dry or ironing room, servants ordinary, vegeta-_

The first, or principal sto-y will be sixteen feel in
heighth, front the top of the upper plairt-or
basement. The apartments and division on this
floor will be as fotiows :--A spacious vestibule, a
large public lobby, re replica room or audience
chamber, for gentlemen kit twelve sided orei roller
apartment, 3.5 feet in diameter,) with reading
room, writing rut in, &a., adjoining-8 parlors,
14 by 20, or 4 double room: 14 by 40, one large
parlor or romping room, with spacious bay win
dow, 4 wide easy stairways leathog up and down,
with corridors extending from the vestibule and
lobby, through the wings and to the central
lawn, through which is the ladies' approach from
the upper street.
The second story will be twelve feet in heiylith,
and divided as follows :—A ladies' public salOon,
iii feet diameter, directly over the gentlemen's
circular room below, and convenient to it, recep
tion rooms, dressing rooms, refreshment room',
&c., with 0 sets of rooms, eaoh Bet consisting of
parlors, bed rooms, &c., for lady and gentlemen,
or small family; and 4 largo private eltainhers,
with fire places, &c., for 1 or 2 lodgers each.
The corridors, bay windows, &c., &c., will be as
on the first floor.
The third story will be ten feet in height),
Through this entire story from the front or cen
tral area, will be spacious passages through the
wings ; and 4 ranges of large airy sleeping room , .
say $0 or 40 in bombers, to be occupied only by
gentlemen lodgers, on the European or Lovejoy
plan.
The approaches, entries, corridors, halls, stair
ways, Stc., will all bo made, with reference to the
different classes of guests, or their several modes
of tiring, so as not to interfere with or trespass
on each other's rights, or the rules and regula
tions of the establishment—the design of which
is, to accommodate all.
A considerable number of rooms, single and
in suits, are bespoken by parties who intend to
occupy them permanently. Others, if not actu
ally subscribed for, will be offered at public or
private sale, as pews are often sold in the
churches of our large eastern cities, to the best
bidders.
Other rooms will be leased to individimhi or
small select families—who, rather tan incur the
expense, the multiplied cares, vexations and an
noyances of a private domestic establishment,
prefer the London, Paris, or New York plan of
living at a genteel hotel, where the touch of a
bell will place before them, in a few minutes,
and at fair prices, everything that the market
can supply, or a private household afford.
The balance of the house, not thus dispcsod
of, will be kept as &Psi class hotel and boarding
