B. C. SAWYER, Chairman. Th. At an early hour, notwithstanding the sultry state i.f the evening, the large and elegant hall was crowded with the beauty and fashion of the city. The sido, Robert le Diable, was executed in the most pleasing and artistic manner, reflecting the highest credit on the musical ability of the fair performer. The Lib., '' Could I hush a Father's Sigh," was also sung with lability, taste and judgment. The duett, " Holy Mot c;, guide his footsteps," was received with much applause, as was also " May Morning." In. deed, the latter piece was a brilliant performance, and was received with the most unbounded applause. " Tourna mia dit she ma ami," was executed in a highly creditable manner. The soprano was sung with excellent taste, evidencing a highly cultivated musical talent- The tenor was the best that we ever beard. The choruses were all well sung, and dues great credit to Prof. Wamelink, as a skilful and successful teacher. We hope the Musical Society will favor us with another concert soon, as we have never beard one that gave more unbounded or uni versal satisfaction.
