ber of looks and dams; but one entirely novel, and
for which the writer claims the greatest utility and
predicts the most undoubted success. We otinfe ,- 1

writer says he began invention by which boats can be
built to run on a much less depth of water than it
now the case. Ile says further that he is in such sin
hayseed circumstances as will prevent hint from per
fecting his idea, but that he would like to lay the
