WEDNESDAY MORNING FEBRUARY The Tract Society.—The exercises of the Tract Society of the M. E. Church were concluded yester day. In the morning a conference meeting was held in the Lecture room. ,f Christ Church. At 3 o'clock in the afternoon the annual report was read by the Secretary, Dr. J. L. Peck, of New York, at a meet ing hold in the Smithfield st. Church. From it we learn that the central location was established at Now York in 1852. There are in the employ of the Society eighteen hundred persons distributing tracts. Since 1852, 69,937,000 pages have been distributed. In the same time, 272,862 families have boon visited, and 31,353 supplied with books. Through the in strumentality of the Society, 2,252 children have boon brought into Sabbath Schools, and 1,092 con versions ascribed to the influence of the tract sys tem. Twenty-one conferences are within the juris diction of the Society. After the reading Of the re port several interesting addresses were delivered. In the evening, City Hall was densely filled to hear the closing exercises. From nine cause or other the gas would not burn. but this did not inter fere with the meeting, as candles were provided as a substitute. Addresses were delivered by Rev. J. 1,. Watson, of Chicago. Rev. J. L. Peek, and others.
