illtirlT or TIL.NNIT.—The Judiciary Committee
of the House at Harrisburg has had under consid
eration the question of the right of slavehohlers to
take their slaves across the State or any portion
of the Stale of Pennsylvania. It is the mere
right of transit, traveling in the customary man
lier, that is the subject of discussion. A ma

a right yet exits , notwithstanding the act
of 1517. The Iniuority of the Committee deny
the right.
This question has reference to the Passmore
Williamson case, as well as to the general sub

probably be the suldect of exciting debate when
under consideration in the House and Senate.

Letters Patent haring been obtained for an improve

prevaed to MANUFACTURE Tu 01.E.Zit ENGINES on
this plan, of any size, at one third tsar cut than tho old Slats
Volvo kfilgine. Tina Engine ban been peer tined bYenniPe
lent judged to be the greatest Improvement on Steam En

eau shop Mr over a year, and thoroughly testing its quali
ties, that it must supersede the till plan. There to no doubt
that imp god mocbanic, on examination of its properties,
will readily odmit the fact. MO improvement does away
',nth all the 04frotiour heretofore urged °gated Oscillating
Engines, and enibrams a number of important Mina/taps.
It ihes away with nine-teethe of the friction, occupies only
imeaeurth the space, and is much loss liable to get out of
order; and being simple iu tonstrttction, law little or no
wiar amt tear. The iteverse and Cut-oft motibu being part
of tie- improvement, makes it applicable to all purposes to
which any other Engine can be applied.
An application has been made to the Patentee by an eaten
