—An accident occurred on the Ohio and Pennsylra- ;

here at 8 r. Ir., which might have terminated fatally.
As the train was passing Loudonville, about 185
miles from Pittsburgh, one of the fore wheels of the
first passenger car broke, causing the car to fly the
track and turn a . somersault in an incredibly short
time. Only eight persons wero m m it, anrall were
more or less injured, but none fatally. Mr. Fink, of
Pittsburgh, was badly cut about the head, and the
water boy was also considerably bruised. This is
the second accident of the kind on this road within a
fortnight, caused by the breaking of wheels.
A Noisy F ght occurred on Monday night at the
tavern of William Jackson, on Penn street, in the
Fifth Ward, in which a man named James Alston
was rather roughly handled by Jackson and two
two other men, warned James Smith and Thomas
Gray. Yesterday he made information before Alder
man ParkinSon against these parties for assault and
battery ; they were all arrested, and Smith, in default
of bail, sent to jail. Subsequently Alston, also, made
information against Jackson for selling liquor con
trary to law, and on this charge he was likewise held
to bail to answer.
