JANUARY 16
A.Wells's 17.1,r 1! 1' the !run Otis are still on ex
hibition at Franklin Hall, for a few nights longer.
The inelemency of the weather for the last two weeks
has, we have no doubt, prevented many of our citi
eons from visiting this meritorious work of art. Thu
views are familiar to us: and we were surprised to
find such an amount of labor accomplished in so short
a space of time; still we think the artist has done
justice to his subject, and it is our part to repay him
for his labor by crowding his Hall. A quarter-dollar
is Stll3F sum for the pleasure of witnessing home
scones, but their multiplicity will enable thdartist to
proceed in painting some other sections of Pittsburgh,
and make of it a Panorama that will compare furore
bly with his other painting. We would conclude our
notice by enjoining upon our frieutk to go, and judge
for them sel ‘!:, if " the laborer i.s not worthy of his
•
hire."
