MONDAY The Caws of X' Com—Stabunent of the Pritoner.— •On Saturday afternoon an examination of the case of William J)ughey, charged with stabbing Thomas M'Ooy, was had before Alderman Major. The prisoner, after being duly cautioned by the Alderman not to say anything that would criminate himself, vol untarily gave the following statement of the difficulty : STATEMENT OP WILLIAM oseonnv. After the taking of this statement, the prisoner was re-committed to jail until Wednesday next, to await the result of M'Coy's injuries. Dr. Floyd, the attendant physician, made a depo position to the effect that when called in, he found about fifteen wounds in the abdomen, back, side and left arm, mostly about an inch in extent, except one behind the left shoulder, which was nearly two inches and a half long. Two of the wounds in the abdo men penetrated into the cavity, at which a portion of the contents escaped, and which had to be re placed. There was most to be dreaded from the dan ger of peritoneal inflammation. The Doctor also mid he considered M'Coy's present condition very dangerous, but that he was now im proving.
