Flour Market.-1910 bbls of Ameri can flour have
this week been taken by the Grand Junction Rail
.
way from LiVerpool to Bristol,_and the Company
have commisaions to take considerable quantities
. more. Last. week about 100 U were sent by rail
way. Very superior American flour is now bein g
' °retailed in that town - at from six to seven pounds
- for a shilling. , The cry of all the shopkeeper is,
- that nothing willsell li'ke barrelled flour. Immense
quanties are Carried along the street every day.—
. Thousands of barrels have been purchased by the
corn dealers :in. the course of ,the, week. Every
baking day is now a celebration of the blessings of
free trade.:
American
American ' flour was less active, and barely
maintained its previous . value. Prices current
were 2ts. to 255. for New Orleans, and 27s to 2Ss.
for the latter descriptions, extra 28s. per barrel.
On the 15th inst. English W4a s t ended very. dull
at the decline noted on Mond4y,apd a similar re.
mark applies to the former.
On' the Ifith inst there was a fair demand for
good fresh wheat, all, inferior qualities meeting lit
tle attention, and loeal dealers being influenced by
the rain eat sparingly,•at the sale on the 14th inst.,
which were generally incapable of improvement.
United,States and Canada flour continued to be
taken freely, and superior commands extreme
rates:
White flour continues in fair demand at rather
_ less rnoney,and since,the 15th, the sales have been
so large that many considered the stock here as
being half sold.
On the 18th inst.- there was no alteration to re
- port, but sine - 0 the 14th , inst. the transactions in
wheat 'have been of a very trifling character; but
seller's have manifested firmness, and shown no dis
poSition to give way. On the 10th inst. there was
no more than a retail demand for wheat, and pri
ces declined. Id to 2d per bushel.
American flour had a fair sale to country deal

INTERESTINO - FRaM THE ARMY.
We received last night New 'Orleans ;papers of
the 'Nth:27th and 28th .ult., from which we' ex
tract some additional items ".of interest front the
army received by the steamer Fashion:
TheMatairiot:as American Flag of the22th inst.

The following, from the Flag., is the only.corn
pieta account of the:taking of Cam ergo Yet receiv
ed:—
We are indebted to gr. Zacharie, who arrived
in this city yesterday morning front C'aMargo, for
the following: information. He states that on his
way uP, on the steamer Brownsville, they pased
the steamer Enterprise, took off: half of her - troops
and' supplies, and then continued to the city. On
the hanks of riße river, about half way between
Reinosa and can-large, they espied two 'Mexicans
looking at the boat as she pasied by. with apparent
unconcern:
.some of the passengers, who were well
acquainted with Oanales and Cerrabajal recogniz
red these two humble individuals as the same.—
Any attempt to have taken them would have been
useless,: as they no doubt had, their horses ready
.todeave on the first movement of that kind.
General- Taylor's , Proclamation had been re
ccived both below and at Catrialgo, and when they
arrived: there, the. eitizenS received , the m with their
hats.avaivingin the air, and acclamations of heatt
felt joy.
The soldiershave taken posgession of the town.
There were, at the time he left, 400 troops in the
Lowe, and more expected hourly. The Alcade
came out to meet the commanding' officer previous
to his entering the city, making a request, that he
knew would be granted, that private property
shOuld be respected, but that every thing else was
at their' disposal. Owing to the. late rise in the
river and the immense damage that has' been done
to the town by it, nearly demolishing . the place,
the inhabitants have concluded to change the sit•
nation; of it some ten miles higberuP the riser.
' lmprovements are going on very fist.: Number
of inhabitants about 200. • The river was failing
