"To obviate the chance of mixture of the farina of

IVeer.te's BALSAM of WILD CHERRY, always trittin

DArroN, Feb, 11th, IS-15
J. W. Trhitnwee.—Dear Sir: A 5 youare the reg
ular authorized agr at in Dayton, for the kale of "Dr!
Wihtar's Balsam of Wild Cherry," 1 take this meth
od of making a statement of facts to you (which I
hope may be published to the world) in reference to
an almost miraculous cure, wrought in my case by
means et' the above Invaluable Balsam.
Language tails to describe the salutary cfri'cts it pro
duced, and the groat benefit 1 derived from its use:
The Mumma of Dayton and i tit i ty , well recol
lect that on the Bth of August last, I received seri
ous injury from the explosion of a cannon. A por
tion of its contents entered my right side and breast;
and in all probability, sonic fragments or splinters of
the ram-rod passed through the "plum," and pierced
the Lungs.
After the lapse of about six weeks, I was attacked
with a distressing rough and a violent pain in my
right side. Some ten days after this when in a OIL
arysin of roughing, suddvily and 111.CEtt broke, and
a large quantity of ver)4 offensive matter, mined
with blood, was discharged; most of which found
passage through the one Ong of the wound. From
this epenmg there freqoe, ntly passed a quantity of
air, supposed to issue film the lungs. Litring alt
this time any sufferings zra . e almost intolerable.
My physicians, ineanwßffe paid the strictest atten
tion to me, and dill all in ;their power for my recov
!ery. But with all their skill they could not reach
ithe seal if distress, after the Lungs had become affect
ed. I was visited during this time by at least twenty
Physicians. .
, . .
- It was now reduced to a certainty, that infiamation
of the lungs was rapidly taking place; and that this
o ould terminate me life in a very short time, was in
the highest degree probable.
At tins critical stage, a messenger was despatched
to Cincinnati, and a celebrated Physician of thM
place was consulted. When he was made acquaint
ed with my situation, he remarked that nothing could
be done by medical aid, if the constitution itself was
not sufficient to throw off the disease: ,
My friends now despaired of my recovery, and I
had 110 earthly ground of hope to survive many. days.
Fortunately at this juncture, 1 sew one of Dr. Wis
' tar's Pamphlets, entitled "Faintly Medical Guide,"
or "Treatise on Consumptiiin of the Lungs." As I
!had often heard of dying nitro "catching at straws,"
I I felt this doing so myself. fly the consent of my
ll'hysicians, I sent to you fur a bottle of the medicine
'described viz. ~ Wistar's Balsam of Wild Cherry,"
which rrliered me almost immediately. Athar I
had us , d some lire or six bottles 'solar recovered as
Itohe up nod about. My cough ceased, and my I ungr
were restored to a healthy state—all from tile heal
ing and balmy influence and powerful medicinal vir
tues of Wistar's Balsam. . .
Were it not from the external injury I received
my shoulder and aria by the explosion, 1 fi.cl conti
dent that I might have been working ut my trade •
(which in blacksmithing,) but this has prevented.
By exposure, I have since taken several severe
colds, and my only remedy has been "the balsam."
And 1 now most cordially recommend the genuine
Wistar's Balsam to all who are afflicted with Colds,
Coughs, or Lung Complaints. I consider it an inval
uable medicine—a real blesSing tb the world. Any
person desiring further information, may call on me
any time. yours truly,
