tim with all their sltrll they could hot reach
the ire/ ,f distress, efirr the Lungs had heroine affect
rd. I was visited during this time by at least firenty
sir inns.
It was now reduced to a certainty, thst inftamation
ri the fon,er Mat rapidly taking place; and that this
o "old tmin.liatc my life in a lery short tune, wan in
the highest degree probable.
At Oils critical stage, a merremzer was despatched
to l'inctunltt, and a celebrated Physician of that
~.iare was consulted. When Ito oan made acquaint
ed with In s.tuation, he remarhed that nothing could
be done by medical aid, if the constitution itself Seas
not sutfict.•nt to throw ott the disease.
Itl) friends now despaired of my recoTery, and I
had no earthly ground of ho}.•e to survive many days.
Fortunately at this juncture. I saw one of Dr. li'ts
tpr'. P:auphlets, entitled ••Family Igedical Guide,"
sir "Treatise on Consumption of the Lungs:' As I
had often heard of dying men —catching at 9tlaWIS,..
fc!l this doing so myself. Ito the consent of my
Physicians, I rent to you for a bottle of the medicine
described viz: "Wistar's Balsam of Wild Cherry,"
wifich relieved me almost immediately. After I
bad used some five or six bottles I solar recerered 119
to be up and about. My cough ceased, and rny lungs
tveru restored to a healthy state—all from the heal
ing and habny influence and powerful medicinal vir
tues of lyisturs Balsam.
Were it not from the external injury I received in
my shoulder and arm by the explosion, I feel confi
dent that I might have Mien uerking at my trade
(which is blacksmithing,) but this has prevented.
By exposure, I have since taken several severe
colds, and my only remedy has been "the balsam."
And I now most cordially recommend the genuine
tristar's Balsam to all who are afflicted with Colds,
Coughs, or Lung Complaints. I consider it an inval
uable medicine—a real blessing to the world. An)
person desiring further information, may call on me
ally time. yours truly,

being an exact far-simile of the EdinbUrgh edition.
The wide-spread fame of these splendid Periodi
cals renders it needless to say muchin their praise.
As literary organs. they stand far in'advanee of
any works of a similar stamp now published, while
the political complexion of eachjs marked by a
dignity. candor and forbearance not often found in
works of a party character.
They embrace the views of the three great par
ties in England—Whig, Tory, and Radical.—
"Blackwood" and the -'London Quarterly'! are •
TOry; the "Edinburgh Review," Whig; and the
“Westinintster," Radical. The "Foreign Quarter.
ly" is purely literary, being dev'oted principally to
criticisms on foreign Continental

The prices of the RE-PIIINTS are, less than one
third of those of foreign copies, and while they
are equally well got up, they afford 'all that advan.
