A NOTHER ASTONISHING CURE! Wis - ran's BALSAM OF WILD CirEnav, alwas pliat! cure follon.s cure in its onward rictoriou career! DAT:roN, FehD 1111 i, 1845. J. W. Whitmore.—Deor Fir: As younre the eig ular authorized agent in Dayton, for the sale of" Dr. Wistar's Balsam of Wild Cherry," I take this meth od of making a statement of facts tai you (which I hope may be published to the world) in reference to! a n a lmost miraculous cure, wrought in my case by means of the above Invaluable Balsam. Language fails to describe the salutary effects it pro- I dated, and the great benefit 1 derived from its use. The citizens of Dayton and vicinity, well recol lect that on the Sth al e August last, 1 received seri ous injury from the explosion of a cannon. A por tion of its contents entered my right side and breast; and in all probability, some fragments or splinters oil the ram-rod passed through the •‘plurar and pierced the Lungs. Alter the lapse of about six weeks, I was attacked i with a distressing rough and a violent pain in my right side. Some ten days after this when in a par -s.rysin of coughing, suddenly and ULCER broke, and la large quantity of very offensive matter, mixed with blood, was discharged; most of which found ('passage through the opening of the wound. From this epening there frequently' passed a quantity of lair, supposed to issue from the lungs. During all this time my sufferings were almost intolerable. My physicians. meanwhile paid the strictest atten ition to me, and did all in their power for toy recov. err. But with all their skill they could not reach ithe seat of distress, after the Lungs heti become affect ! ed. I was visited during this time by at least twenty Physicians. it was now reduced to a certainty, that intimation of the lungs was rapidly taking place; and that this would terminate my life in a very short time, was in the highest degree probabie. At this critical stage, a messenger was despatched to Cincinnati, and a celebrated Physician of that place seas consulted. When he was made acquaint ed with toy situation, be remarked that nothing could be done by medical aid, if the constitution itself was , not sufficient to throne off the disease. My friends now despaired of my recovery, and I had Ile earthly ground of hope to survive many days., Fortunately nt this juncture, I saw one of Dr. Wis tar's Pamphlets, entitled "Family Medical Guide," or "Treatise on Consumption of the Lungs." As I had Mien heard of dying men "catching at straws," , I felt this doing so Myself. By the consent of my! Physicians, I sent to you Mr a bottle of the medicine' described viz: "Wister's Balsam of Wild Cherry," which relieved me almost immediately. Alter had used some live or six bottles I so far recovered as to he up and about. My cough ceased, and my lungs' were restored to a healthy state—all from the hcal-I ing and balmy influence and powerful medicinal air hues of Wistar , s Balsam. Were it not from the external injury I received in my shoulder and arm by the explosion, I feel court-. dent that I might have been working at my trade (which ns blacksmithing,) but this has prevented. ' By exposure, I have since taken several severe! colds, and my only remedy has been "the balsam."; And I now most cordially recommend the genuine', Itristor's Balsam to all who are afflicted with Colds,l Coughs, or Lung Complaints. I consider it an inval-1 uable medicine—a real blessing to the world. Any person desiring further information, may 'call on me any time. yours truly, CHRISTOPHER R. SMYTII. City of Dayton, 1 .
