LANDRI:fIPS NURSERIES AND GARDENS
"These extensive grounds are on Federal street,

tion of Camellias was made here. Some of those
now in possession of.illose distinguished nurserymen
are teu feet high. • • The selection of
GAEEN-110VSE pt.Arert Is valuable and extensive.
"The Nurseries nye very correctly managed, sup;
plying every part of the Union, a detail of which
would occupy too much of our space, we therefore
content ourselves with stating that the stock is very
large, and in every stage of growth, consisting of
FOREST AND 011NAMENTAL TREKS, EVER—
GREENS, SHRUBS, VINES AND CREEPERS, with
a collection of lierhacceous plants, fruit trees of the
hest kind and roost healthy condition, large beds of
seeding apples, pears, pltims, Se., as stoat far bud
ding and grafting; a plan very superior to that sf
working upon suckers, which carry with them into
the graft all the diseases of the parent stock. •
"GARDE4 4 t SEEDS of the finest quality have been
scattered over the country from these grounds, and
may always be depended upon. The seed establish
ment of these Horticulturists is one of the most ex
tensive in the Upton, and its reputation is well sustain..
ed from year to year.
"To obviate the chance of mixture of the farina of
the plants of the same family, they have established
another nursery at a suitable distance, so that degene
ration cannot take place, and which secures to the
purchaser a 'genuine article.' Knowing thus the
age, quality and process of culture of every plant,
the supple from their grounds is recommended with
great coniidence."
'.' Since the date of the 'Report' from which the
above is extracted, the entire establishment has been
greatly enlarged. The collection of Camellias em
braces all the finer kinds, and consists of some thou
sands of various sizes; so likewise with Roses, and
other desirable plants, both tender and hardy; fruit
trees, &c.
The Seed Gardens alone cover fifty acres, and the
whole is, as it has been for more than India century,
under the successive management of father and son,
the moot prominent in America.

A CURE FOR CONSUMPTION
Seven Thousand cases o f obstinate Pulmonary Com
plaints cured in one year!
We ask the attention of the candid to a fe'w con
siderations.
Nature, in every part other works, has left
ble marks of adaptation and design.
The constitution of.the animals and vegetables of
the forest, is such that;' they could not endure the
cold of the frigid zone, and vice vesa.
In regard to diseases and its cure, the adaption is
more or less striking.
The Moss of Iceland, the Wild Cherry and Pines
of all Northern latitudes (and "Dr. WISTAR'S BAL
SAM" is a compound chemical extract from these,)
have long been celebratedlfor complaints prevalent
only in cold climates. Indeed the most distinguished
medical men have averred that nature furnishes in
every country medicinea for its own peculiar diseases.
Consumption in its conliamed and incipient stages
Coughe, Asthma, Croup and Liver Complaint form by
tar the most fatal class of diseases known to our
land. Yet even these may: be cured by means of the
simple yet powerful remedies (named above) and
which are scattered, by a beneficient Providence,
wherever those maladies prevail. •
ANOTHER ASTONISHING CURE!
Wisrmis lisu , Ast OF WILD Cunnny, always trium
phant! cure follows curd in its onward victorious
career!
I. IV. initynore.—Dear Sir: As youare the reg
ular authorized agent in Dayton, for the sale of "Dr.
Wistar's Balsam of Wild Cherry,' I take this meth
od of making a statement' of (acts to you [which I
hope may be published to the world) in reference to
an almost inimculons cure, wrought in my case by
means of the above Invadable EaLsam.
Language fails to describe the salutary effects it pro
duced; and the groat benefit I derived from its use.
The citizens of Dayton and vicinity, well recol
lect that on the Bth or August last, I received soli
oun injury from the explosion of a cannon. A 'por
tion of its contents entered my right side and breast;
and in all probability, some fragments or splinters of
the ram-rod passed throngh the "plum," and pierced
the Lungs.
Alter the lapse of about six weeks, I Was attacked
with a distressing cough end a violent pain in' ray
right side. Some ten days after this when in a par-
°rpm of roughing, suddenly and ULCER broke, and
a large quantity of very• offensive matter, mixed'
with blood, was dischar?ed; most of which found
passage through the opening of the wound. From
this cpcning there frequently passed a quantity of
air, supposed to issue from the lungs. During all
this time my sufferings were almost intolerable. -
.I'lly physicians, meanwhile paid the strictest atten
tion to me, and did all in their power for my recov
ery. But with all their ekill they could not re'ach
the seat of distress, after the Lungs had become affect
ed. I was visited during this time by at least twenty'
Physicians.
It was now reduced to a certainty, that inflamation
of the lungs was rapidly taking place; and that this
would terminate my life in a very short time, was in
the highest degree probable.
At this critical stage, a messenger was despatched
to Cincinnati, and a celebrated Physician of that
place was consulted. When he was made acquaint
ed with my situation, he remarked that nothing could
be done by medibal aid, if the constitution itself was
not sufficient to throw off the disease.
ly friends now despaired of my recovery, and I
had no earthly ground of hope to survive many days.
Fortunately at thili juncture, I saw one of Dr. Wis
tars Pamphlets, entitled "Family. Medical Guide,"
or "Treatise on Consumption of the Lungs."• As I
had often heard of dying Men "catching at straws,"
I felt this doing so myself. By the consent of my
Physicians, I sent to you for a bottle of the medicine
described viz: "Wistar's Balsam of Wild Cherry,"
which relieved me almost immediately, Atter I
had used some five or six bottles /sofar recovered as
to be up and about. My cough ceased; and my lungs
were restored to a healthy state- - •all from the heal
ing and balmy influence andpowerful medicinal vir
tues of IVistars Balsam.
Were it not from the extertial injury I received in
my shoulder and arm by the explosion; I feel confi
dent that I might have been working at my trade
(which is blacksmithing,) but this has prevented.
By exposure, I have since taken several severe
colds, and my only remedy has been "the balsam:"
And I now most cordially recommend the genuine
Wistar•s Balsam to all who are afflicted with Colds,
Coughs, or Lung Complaints. I consider it an inval
uable medicine—a real blessing to the world. Any
person desiring further information, may call on me
any time. yours truly,

The wide-spread fame of these splendid Periodi

works of a party character.
They enibrace the views of the three great par
