Pa/L.—Experience having long since decided, that
every disease originates from impurities of the blood,
or derangement of the digestive ottrans, it is evident
that the remedy employed must be of such a nature as
is beii.caleidsted to remove those obstructions, or re
store the Mood to its natural state. The ClicLefler,
Sugarinated Purgative Pills. being compounded pure
ly on scientific principles. and based on an intimate an•
quaintanco with the origin of disease, and the actual,
atrueenei airltite borate agates are the on!y remedy
which can . he positively relied on. Being composed!
of a variety of ingredients entirely ilitTereist from, and
independent of each other in their mode of operation;,,
they never fail to teach the seat of disease, in what.'
ever shape it may appear. Thus, if the liver be effect-'
ed, one ingredient will operate on that particular organ
and by cleansing it of that excess of bile, it is con ,
stantly discharging into the stomach, restore it to its'
natural state, Another will operate on the blood, and
remove those impurities which have already entered
into its circulation; while a third will effectually expel
from the system whatever impurities ma) have been I
discharged into the stomar.h, through the instrument I
a lity of the other ingredients. •

LAST NIGHT'S MAIL.
11111.58 OP 13MR ORLEANS AND BARQUE ARAB
We learn from the books of the Exchange Reading
Room, says the Baltimore Sun of the 9th hint, that
the brig Orleans, Cap; Long, of and for Baltimore,
from St Thomas via Turks Island 224 February, in
ballast, was wrecked on Monday last, about two miles
north of the Inlet, in a tremendous heavy gale from
the NE. She having got into the outer breakers.
was by the Capt run on to the Beach, and in less than
two hours was scattered into pieces, giving barely
time fur the passengers and crew to save themselves.
They were enabled to do 50 by the cutting, away of I
the main mast and its falling towards the shore, on
which they all walked to the bench amid gteat peril
and danger from the breaker, leaving all the baggage
and effects in the wreck, and saving nothing but the
clothes in which they were dressed, Among the
passengers were Capt Freeman, and two mates, of
the Barque Arab, abandoned, (an account of which
is annexed;) Capt J Anson, of N York, and the mate
of the brig George Gardner, (condemned at St.
Thomas.) They with the crew of the Orleans, Sr.
_rived here via Norfolk, yesterday morning, leaving
Capt Long on the beach to look after any thing that
may be saved from the wreck.
The barque Arab, Freeman. of and from Boston
for Cork, whirl, sailed on the 14th January, laden
with 25.000 bushels corn. sprung a leak on the 18th
and on the 20th, in lat 41 30 N lar GI 50 %V having
3 feet water in the hold, and fast increasing, was a
bandoned, and all hands taken on board the schr Four
Brothers, from Yarmouth, N S. and carried to Anti
gua, whither she was bound; from thence Captain
Freeman and crew went to St Thomas, when the
crew shipped for Havana, and he, with the mutes,
took passage in the brig Orleans for this port. and
again were wrecked as above. Capt F intended leav
I iog here for the eastward last. evening.
TraRICLIE ACCIDFIT Ann MELANCIioLT Loss or
Lire —We lent nby an officer of she Sea Bird, says
the Louisville Courier of the 7th inst, that on Thurs
day night, while lying on the falls, outside Corn
Island, one of the mates and four men went to lay an
anchor ahead. Upon returning to the boar; the cm,
rent n as so strong that the yawl was drawn under the
guards, the engine being at work at tho time, the
wheel raised over it. One of the men was saved by
the Glencoe ,at the foot of Sand lidand, and it in re
ported than another swam ashirre. The other three
were drowned.
Destructive Fires—Al Sartaanak, Ga.—An ex
tensive fire broke out in Savannah or Sunday night,
in the cotton sheds at the head of Bay street, whir h
were entirely consumed w ith the cotton in them (1900
bales) with a house on Bay and one in the tear. The
entire loss is estimated nt $61,500, of which all ex.
cept ab.rut $5,L00 is insured. This is supposed to
be
the work of incendiares, Inc whose apprehension a
reward has bees offered of $5OO by the May of
Sa
vannah. Two other attempts %vete again made on
Monday evening. An indi, idol' has been apprehend
ed under suspicious circumstances.
ARRITOL o► P►CKET Si ips.—The New York
Herald of the Bth, states, that four of the packets so
anxiously looked for made their appearance in piirt
on Saturday—the Roscius,Capt Eldridge; the F.ttrope,
Capt Eutleer; and the Hendrick If udaon.Capt MOOl,
from London. The latter ran to the north a. far OA
latitude 52 and south as far as 32. They have suf
fared considerable in sails sod rigging, from the Ili
[reale severity of the sarather; otherwise, however,
they have sustained little or no damage, and will be
shin to take their places in their respective lines, arid
leas. on their regular days.

DISEASE OF THE LIVER.
DEAR Star—Agreeable to your desire, I write id
• keep you apprized of the prospects of the Clickenel•
Sugar Coated Purgative Pill, in this city. 'ou may
recollect, when I first commenced selling your mede
eine, which was in May, 18,4, we little dreamed c 1
the success that would crown tho rindertating. Out
premixes had been so completely flooded by Jib ode
thousand and one ure-aleable remedy for every posit
ble complaint andel the sun, that I set iously content ,
plated having nothing more to do with any thing of the
kind. However. et the most urgent solicitation, ii?
consented to make a trial of yours. At first we found
coneiderabledifficulty in nut achng public attention to
wards there. People had been so often dectiVed by
the vile compoands which have tint-reed Oise country for
the last 15 years or morn, that they determined, if
possible, never to be "taken in" again; and the copse's
quence was, they could hardly ho persuaded to nec.epi
of the Pills, as the sa3ing i.., fur "love nor money.'
Thus mat terra proceeded fora week or ten. when, al
egood lurk would have it, "NI re. 'N -a lady at
our city, who had long suffered from an affection of
the Liver, accompanied by indigestion of the most obi
stinate character, erns petaended to nrcept of a box, 4)ZI
condition that nothing was lobe paid for it, if they did
not afford her the Ileac...dry relief- I must confeset
we ourselves had very little faith in the mutter, know
ing as we did, that her complaint was dhe of long
standing, and had been unsuccessfully treated by the
most eminent Physicians of this and several neighbor'
ingtowns. get we had determined to give the medl• '
cine a fair trial, 'arid if it proved to be wottlilese, it
would be a source of satiefactien to knew It, both td
you and Id its. No less to our joy than surprise, how
ever, only a few days had elapsed, when the Indy again
presented herself at on r counter and enquired forsooth
er box. "1 really think, Mr. Williams," says shei
"that your Pill, are lteeinnine to work a great change
in my health, and altogether tier the better. When
took the second dose. I began to feel much betterthen
I did at first; the pain in my side was considerablY re
lieved; my appetite began to improve; and the blood
'seemed to circulate through my vein, as it did in my
youthful days. Since then, I have taken the reenaindet -
of the Pills, and my improvement has been sensibly
progressing at every repetition of the dose. I have
nn doubt that a few more boxes will effectually curt
me." The result wan es she predicted. Her health
is completely restored. The flush of youth and beaus
ty has returned to her cheeks, and the prospect of a
long and a hippy life is before her. 1 etta satisfied
she will never fbrget the Clickener Sugar-Coated Pills:
As might naturally be supposed, the newe of this et
traordinary cant was rapidly disseminated throtrghthe
city anti adjacent couintaa and scarcely a week had
eloped, before enquiries began to be made for Click
crier's Sugar-Coated Purgative Pine; and the dettland
has already increased to ouch an extent. that we find
the greatest difficulty in supplying it. In fact, if it did
not seem like exaggeration, I might almost say that we
are literally besieged by women, and children, labor
, ing under every possible ailment which "humem flesh
lis heir tu." The halt; the lame, and the blind; the
• asthmatic, ceesumptiVe, and dyspeptic, are thronging
our doors in pursuit of the nevelefuiline Patacea.—
Teatimonials of its salutary effects are voluntarily
flowing in upon us from every quarter. One person
informs us he has been relieved of a moat obminate
Dyspepsia. Another had just recovered from a seri
ous attach of Apoplexy. A third has succeeded in
expelling from his system the symptoms of Jaundice,
And a fourth has just recovered from ao attack of Pols
rnonary Consumption, which had confined him to his
bed for many months.—So we ge. But do not fail to
keep us supplied. Besides our Retail Trade. we
have standing orders from the country to a large ,
