Po Aloakers.—The difficulty which every mother experiences in administering medicine to infants, is entirely obviated by Dr. C I ickener's prepamtlori, called the Sugar Coated Vegetable Pmgative rill. The pill is enooated with fine white sugar, so that it resembles and tastes like a sugar plum, Mllch no child ever yet refused to swallow. For wornis this is an assured remedy, and it has been used with excellent effect in 'teething. The matron of the Farm School *rites to Dr. Clickener that she has used for some time, his Su gar Coated Pill in both these complaints, and always with entire success. LAST NIGHT'S MAIL. • ,) _ ,_ • From our Washington Correspondent, January 24, 1846) In the House, to day, the Florida election case' bccupied a protracted session. Mr Stereos of Geor gia, spoke in favor of the sitting member; Mr Sed dons of Virginia, in favor of the claims of Mr Brock. eibrough. The previous question was called, but the call not sustained—there being over 30 majority against it. Mr Davis of Ky., renewed the debate in favor of the sitting member, and made a speech which nearly filled op his hour. Mr Cobol] was heard in his own defence—or rather in explanation of his previous defence. A call of the House was then or dered; 1813 members answered to their names A call forth° previousquestion was renewed and sus. tained upon the resolution which declared the sitting member, not entitled to his sear, the yeas 105, nays 80. Upon the second resolution that Mr 13rocken brough was emitted to his seat, as the Represents tine from Florida, the ayes were 99, nays 85. After the last vote was declaired, Mr Thompson, of Mississippi, offered a resolution of reconsideration, recommitting the whole matter to the Committee of the whole. The vote for rezcommittal, was eyes 84 noes 92; so the motion was lost. In this stage of the proceedings, Mr Broeken lorough, advanced to the Spool:Ws Choir, and rsar siourn in ae the Itespresentative from the State of Florida. An invir ctuai attempt was made to revive the sub• ject in some form ; but a motion to adjourn prevailed. So that matter is ended; and Mr Cnbell goes back to his sunny region, where your correspondent had much rather be put soon, than to be sheet ing here at the Capital. There is a speck of Foreign news by the mail of te night. The long repented steamship has arrived et York, and from the Exiles received here, Loud Jobn Rusell was unable to form a Miaim ry, and the reigns of government were again banded over to Sir Robert Peel. Little or no notice appears to have been tekenof the President's Message. Nothing in said of its re_ ception by the Government, and the press appears to he ga6•t. Those w 1 h 1 hear speak of the intelligence , generally argue that it is pacific; but I cannot arrive to any such conclusion. from the fact that when Great Britain intends to do anything, she oh* ass puts on a peaceable face and crane, her biu,tie i ing, a ll being calm without, but warlike within. [From the AF,ent at Quebec, L. C.] DISEASE OF THE LIVER Deals Slit—Agreeable to your desire, I write to keep you `apprized of the prospects of the Cliekener Sugar Coated Purgative Pill, in this city. You may recollect, when I first commenced selling your medi cine, which was in May, 18:4, we little dreamed : of the success th,,t would crown the undertaking. Our premhies hod been so completely flooded by the one thousand and one uns a leable remedy for every possi ble complaint under the sun, that I set bousli contem plated hiving nothing more to (to with any tiring of the kind. HMvever, at the most urg, ,,, nt solicitation We consented to make a trial of yours. At first we found considerablediffieuhy in attracting public attention to wards them. People had been so ofte.n deceiYed by the vile compounds which have flooded the Country for the last 15 yeats or mere, that they determined, If possible, never te be "taken in" again; and the cootie quenco was, they could hardly be persuaded to accept of the Pills, as the saying is, for "love nor money." Thus matterrs prciceeded for a week or two, When, as "good luck would have it, "Mrs. a lady of our city, who had long suffered from an affection of the Liver, etcoMpanied by indigestion of the moat ob stinate character, was persuaded to accept of a box, on condition that nothing was to be paid for it, if ihei did not afford her the necessary relief. I must confess, we ourselves had very little faith in the menet, know. ing as we did, that her corriplaint avail one of long standing, and had been unsuccessfully treated by the most eminent Physicians of this and several neighberr ing towns. But we had determined to give the medi cine a fair trial, and if it proved to be Warthleal, it woold be a sotrree of imisfaction to know if, both to you and to us. No less to our joy than surprise, how. ever, only a few days had elapsed, when the lady again presented herself at our counter andenquired for anoth er box. "I really think, Mr. Williams," says she, 'that your Pills are beginning to work a great change in my health, and altogether for the better. When I took the second dose, I began to feel touch better than I did et first; the pain in my side was considerably re lieved; my appetite began to improve; and the blond seemed to circulate through my 'veins es it did in my youthful days. Since then, I have taken the remainder of the Pills, and my improvement has been sensibly progressing at every repetition of the dose. I have no doubt that a few more boxes will effectually cure are." The result was as she predicted. Her health is completely restored. The Mirth of youth and beau ty has returned to her cheeks, and the prospect of a long and a happy life is before her. I am satisfied she will never forget the Clickener Sugar• Coated As might naturally be supposed, the news of ads ex traordinery cure was rapidly disseminated throughthe city and adjacent country; and scarcely a week had elapsed, before enquiries began to be made for Click ener's Sugar-Coated Purgative Pills; and the demand' has already increased to such an extent, that an find the greatest difficulty in supplying it. In fact, if it did not seem like exaggeration, I might almost say that we are literally besieged by women, and children, labor ing under every possible ailment which "human flesh is heir to." The halt, the lame, and the blind; the asthmatic, consumptive, and dyspeptic, are thronging our doors in pursuit of the oever.failing Panacea.-- Testimonials of its salutary effects are voluntarily flowing in upon us from every quarter. 0118. peruon informs us he has been relieved of a most obstinate Dyspepsia. Another has just recovered from a seri ous attack of Apoplexy. A third has succeeded in expelling (yam his system the symptoms of Jaundice. And a fourft has just recovered from an attack of Pei monery Consumption, which had confined him to his bed for many months.—So we go. But do not fail to keep us supplied. Besides our Retail Trade, we base "raiding orders from the country to a large amount. Send SO Gross at your earliest conrenience. Years, &c. R. H. WILLIAMS. Qurbee, L. C., April 14, 1845. .
