IFIEXICO The Mexican schooner Joaxpine, Capt Gotmez, arrived at this port yesterday from Tampico, whence she sailed on the 22d ult. She brought us neither letters nor papers, hut a goodly quantity of rumors. Our evening cotemporary, the Courier, was so fnrtte. nate as to receive a copy of the 'Dario del Gobierno' of the 12th of August, which is just twelve days In. ter than any paper from the capital hitherto reoeived here. And now a few wools as to the mintory designs of Mexico. It instated by Capt GI - urns-a that it was re ported in Tampico that 1500 men (tom the interior were on their march to join Paredes. %With his for ces, which would then amount to 3500 men, accord ing to this rumor, Paredes was to move upon Texas, striking the Rio Grande as high up Si the Hexer coun ter. Gen Arista. with his 3000 men, was to ',veered hOldly and directly to attack Gen Taylor in his en campment nt Corpus Christi. It is said, moreover, that Mime has employed emissaries to Texas to tem per with the slaves, and that he hopes to render them effective in the promotion of his plans. How confi dent he is of success, the render may judge from ut address to his troops; which appeared in the Dinri3 of the 12th ult.. together with an appeal to the inhabi tants of Coahuila, Nueva Leon, and Tamaulipas.— The latter document was intended merely to slit up the inhabitants to arms: but the address to his tron' is a more formidable afftir, and we crpr it as we find it translated in the Courier. If Arista's troops fight a quarter as bravely as he talks. alas fur the honer of American arms. "Comrades:" The Supreme Executive has *ent to me by express the news that the United States, in pur suance of their ambitious views, havinataken posse.. lion of the Department of Texas, he had demandeda declaration of war from the Congress against the unjust nation. The reiterated demands or Mexico upon Yucatan, fo r troops have• received ono uniform re.ponse—that if Merrier) chose to engage in war with the United States, she must bear the brunt of it: that Yucatan ar a Department would not tontribme any quota of troops; but that if any of her citizens dome to volun• tear they were at liberty to do so.
