to note in Exchanges this week. Currency remains firm
at 1 f die.' Our Brokers are drawing Bilis on the
East at per cent. prem. and 5r m. In Bills on Eu.
rope in the Atlantic cities there is very little change.
Sterling Bills on London and Liverpool were selling,
at last accounts at 9i,e91 prem. Already some of
the notes issued under the now Banking Law of Ohio,
have made their appearance in our Market.

gave way sometime in the forenoon of yesterday. The
water 1.2*1 been grown off, and we presume it will be
repaired as speedily as possible. The proper author
ities sbouki act promptly in the matter.

ranstur.--The store of MI CuYRS TOWNSEND.
Manchester, was broken into on 3esterday morning
and robbed of about eight dollars in money. The
robber entered &•rough a back window, which had
not been carefully secured. In hie hurry to get oat he
forgot a bundle of "Morning Chronicles:" and this
fact kai left the impression upon the mind of Mr T.
that it was the act of a news-hoy.
DIED AT THE EXCHANGE &ISLET,
of 8t Louie, Mn., died at the Exchange Hotel, in this
city, on yesterday morning; he was a stranger in deli
cate health, and we believe, on a tour for its improve
ment. His remains are to be taken to Lis friends in

drought and comfortable steamer, leaves for St Lou.
