[Correspondence of the Bultimore Sun.] U. S. BRIG TRUIToN, Off Monrovia, March 12, 1845. Burning of the Slave Factories—Release of Fifteen Hundred Slaves—A Native Rattle, &c. Gentlemen—Since my last to you, from this place, we have visited Porto Praya, and after refitting, re turned to the coast, arrivtng at Gallinos February fith. Here we found H B M sloop of war Larne, and they informed us that a few days previous, they landed a large force at Gallinan and burnt all the slave facto ries: 1,500 slaves were fur sale on shore, at $2O per heed. The American brig Atlanta. of New York nr Bal ton, was sold at Cape Mount about the 27th of Janu ary, for $9,000, site was bought by Mr Cala, en Italian, living at Cape Mount, and got clear of the coast with 445 slaves. We stopped at this place on the Bth and after taking Governor Roberts nn board, proceed ed down the coast; the Governor lert us at Sinn. We stopped at Centre Frou, Cape Palmas, end Cavalla, and after showing our colors off Taboo, ae returned to Cavalla, where we witnessed a nettle between two native tribes—the Cavalla and the Gresway people. Mr Pain, a missionary. bas established hid mission a mong the Cavalla people. and his friends a ere the con querors in the battle; they burnt the town belonging to the Grezways, and drove them some did ance into the interior. The battle wqs the result of twelve mnrobs palaver, and the damage was about 25 killed and 20 wound ed, A number of out officers visited the missionary, and were greeted at the beach by the sight of seven teen heads that had recently been struck from the bo dies of the con9oeted Grezways. It being the 22d of February, we flied a salute in honor of the day. and after waiting here until the 28th, and being assured by Mr Pain that ho apprehended no clang r from the war, we weighed and retutned up the coast, stopping at Sine fur the Governor, and arrived nt this port again Match 7th. We here found the sloop of war Jamestown, Commander Skinner. The Jamestown is one of our new trial ships, 101 l is entirely over-spar red.
