WEDNESDAY MORNING, MAY 21, 1895
PITTSBURGH BOARD OF TRADE
COMMITTEE FOR MAY
F. Lorenz,
J. May,
TElCATltli.—Don't fOrget. the Theatre to night. The
admirers of Shakespeare will have an opportunity this
evening of witnessing a representation of one of his
best productions.
The other portions of the bill are interesting and can
not fail to please an audience.
SALE or PUBLIC LANDS.—We publish this morning
the President's proclamation for the sale of the Public
Lands in Iliinois and I.W/con/tin. We understand
that at this sale upwards of 90,000 acres of the rich
bottom land of Illinois will be brought into market.
The excellence of the lands of this state for agricul
tural purposes is well known, and their productiveness
over every other section of the west is admitted by ull
who have any knowledge of the western states and
territories.
The Wisconsin rale comprises 370,000 acres of the
choice lands of that thriving and popular territory.
The location of these tracts is considered one of the
best in the territory. Some of them contain an abun
dance of very fine timber; it is all well watered and the
lon is excellent.
These sales will afford to excellent opportunity to
persons wishing to settle in the west, to choobe farms
for themselves.
To morrow we will publish the proclamations fur
the sale of Lands in Missouri and lowa.
C. A. M'A NULTY presents his sincere thanks to
the Hon. Wm. Karns, (and one or two other Gentle
men of Allegheny Coy, hose names are not known,)
for their prompt and efficient aid in saving all of his
Books and Papers at the late ire.

after this date changed their hours, and in future a ill
leave
Pittsburgh for Beaver at 3 o'clock, P. M., and
Beaver at 8 o'clock, A. M. daily, (Sundays excepted.)
It a ill appear manifest upon examination, that the
owner of the steamers Michigan and Wisconsin, are
determined to drive from the nude the Steamboat Lnke

vigor to monopolize the whole busines,.; they were not
satisfied with having the share of snide and
choice of hours in leaving Pittsburgh and Beaver, but
now publicly and plainly say they will drive the Lake
Erie from the river—a generous public will decide.—
