EXpiNSIVE AND VALUABLE
IWater Pbdtret and Factory Sites at Pri
vate Sale.
TOFFER at private sale the propertymilled "Spring
I
Hill," on the south side of Janes River, a short
distance above the Railroad Bridge, in full view of
the city, and about twenty minutes' walk from the cen
tre of business, containing •about 120 acres of Land
an d Islands, in the river, with factory buildings and
dwelling houses fur the manager and all the hands that
would be necessary to work the factory and farm.
The dam and head-gatea are nearly new, and very sub
stantially built. A very large amount of money has
been expended in stone-walling and other improve
ments necessary for varied and extensive manufactur-
ing operations, for which this property is well calcula
ted, from its contiguity to the railroad, and having a
large flow of puro !piing water, at various elevations
of fifteen to forty or fifty feet, which could be advan
tageously used for bleaching and chemical and other
works necessary to the trade of the city, with granite
and good brick clay convenient for the erection of any
buildings required.
I have obtained a charter from the Legislature of
Virginia, for a term of thirty years to form a company
of any kind of manufactures that may be desired,
under the title of the " Spring Hill Manufactu
ring Company." I would prefer to sell the above prop
erty to a company, under the Charter, at a very low
price, taking one half or one third of the amount in
the stock of the company, thereby participating in its
increasing value.
. • -
The situation and buildings, are well suited for a
Woolen Factory, having the indispensable requisites
of an abundant supply of pure spring water, freedom
from dust, and ample space fur all the operations ne
cessary in the manufacture of Flannels,Tweeds, fancy.
Cassimeres and other Woolen goods, (for which our
farmers can furnish an abundant supply of wool.)
The buildings, darn, head-gates, &c., being up, the
company would require little capital to do a profitable
business, having the advantage of the latest improve
ments in machinery, and could go into operation im
mediately. They would hove the advantage of a
large quantity of water and factory sites for sale to
those who may with to put up other manufacturing e
stablishments. A plan of the property will he shown
by Messrs. Brown & Tucker, and further explanations
given by them. HALL NEILSON.

REMOVED
TO No. 124 WOOD STREET, ABOVE FIFTH
HATHAWAY'S
Patent not Air Cooking Stoves.
THE subscriber having entered into the stove bUSis
Ness in Pittsburgh, respectfully informs the pub
lic that he intends carrying it on in its various branches
at the warehouse No. 124 WOOD STREET, above
Fifth street, where he will be prepared to supply
purchasers with any articles in his line. In addition
to other Stoves which he will have on hand, he has
obtained the right to manufacture and sell Hathaway's
Patent Hot Air Cooking Stoves. This stove is pro
nounced superior to any other now in use in the [tilted
States; it is more durable in its construction, and bet
ter adapted to the use of baking. roasting and cooking,
as it is heated very regularly by confining the air in
the stove; and it is a great saving of fuel as well as
labor. I will keep on hand a sufficient number to sup
ply all demands if possible; I have five different sizes,
arid will sell them on reasonable terms, according to
sizes. I have now in use upwards of fifty in and about
this city; all pat in use within six months. Being a
ware that the People of Western Pennsylvania have
been imposed upon by theintroduction of new and high
ly recommended Stoves which were badly constructed,
and havirg soonfailed and become useless. I will grant
to persons wishing to procure the Hot Air Stove, the
privilege of using it a sufficient length of time to prove
its superior quality before I ask them to purchase. j
Persons notifying me front a distance by letter, can
have stoves put up at any time, as I have wagons to
carry them out; I therefore invite Farmers and all per
sons to come and judge for themselves; also to try them
and prove that it is to your advantage to have one.
A II orders will be promptly attended to by the subscri
bur. ROBERT DONAVAN.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Miller's Mansion House,Scpt, 19, 1844.
Mr. IL DoriAVAN—Sir: I have in use one of Hath
away's Hot Air Cooking Stoves, which I got from you
last Spring. It affords Inc much pleasure to recom
mend it for its excellence. So far as my kaowledge
extends, I have no hesitation in saying it is the beat
stove now in use. I need not particularize its merits,
but would advise all disposed to possess an article of
the kind, to adopt the best method of satisfying them.
selves, that is, to try it; and I doubt not they will be
satisfied. D. R. MILLER.
Wagingion Temperance Honer,
Pittsburgh, Sew. 19, 18.1.1.
Mr. R. DoNAVON—Sir.-1 have had in use for five
months, one of Ilathaway's Hot Air Cooking, Stoves,
and I have no hesitatio n in saying it is the best stove
now in um. The various kinds of cooking it is calcu
lated to do at the same time, and the small qoantity
of fuel required, makes it an object worthy the atten
dun of all who desire u good stove.
I embrace this opportueity to recommend the
Hut Air Cooking Stoves; I have used the one you put
up for me constantly all summer, and I must say it is
a grind article. I believe it is superior to any other
stove now in use in this city. The oven bakes well,
and in large enough to bake four large loaves of bread
at one time; it also cooks very speedily, and it requires
very little coal, I think them worthy the attention of all
w h o with a good ~l ove; to such I would say, try them
and prove what they are.

I've bought you a bottle of Thorn's Tooth Wash,

And since they have tried this, cast all others away.
But to prove it the best to make the teeth shine,
Look again, my dear Sal, at t ke lustre of mine.

The Teaberry tooth wash.
And see if this tooth wash of Thorn's is not fine.

I take pleasure in stating, having made use of
"Thorn's Tea Berry Tooth Wash," that it is one of the
best dentrifices in use. Being in a I iquid &inn i t com
bines neatness with convenience. While it cleanses
the enamel and removes the tartar from the teeth, its
perf•ime yields a fragrance peculiarly desirable.
J. P. TIBBETTS, h.. D.
The undersigned have used "Thorn's Compound

extremely pleasant dentri flee, exercising a most salu

preventing the accumulation of Tartar, and purifying
