FRIDAY MORNING, MARCH 28, 1845
PITTSBURGH BOARD OF TRADE.
COMIUTTRIC FOR DIARCII.

Toramis.—.-We are gratified to learn that our esti
-thin friend, C. PORTER, and Mr SHIRES, of Cincin
tie him rented the Pittsburgh Theatre, and intend
wing it about the first of May. During the interven
r
bane they intend that the house shall undergo a
. *motion; cleaned up, repaired and repainted, and
meg improvenieot made that will add to the com
fort of visitera.
Sitter men forsuch an enterprise than Messrs Por
ter sod Shires could Oct be found in the country--
Tin both have much experience in their profession,
ised know well how to cater for the public taste. Un
der their management we hope to see our Theatre re
lented to what it was in farmer days.

BaIMMIVILLIt ROUTt.—There were 76 passengers
epived in oar eityon Wednesday night by this route—
and dikt bulbous the average number. 7n this state
things, hie not wonderful that the Wheeling papers
should be desirous of keeping their route "before the
people," by inciting a discussion of its merits with

Tags WZATlT6a.—Yesterday was warm, bright arid
beautiful.
"The sun shone out o'er hill and dale;
It mu a glorious day."
And the carts and the marts were full in all pane—
lled mixing in mazes the wagons and drayzes and
coaches and anima, were driving about to various
platys-Imi the cocks and the hens and the ladies
wed wens, and the pigs from the pens were walking
around the streets of the town—and down on the
gory, during all this fine day, the loafers looked gay,
and several people were going away—and some,
they do say, had forgotten to pay, which they ought
sotto have done, before going away. And then the
steiewheats, and men without coats were puffing
and scuffing and driving and striving and wearing
sad tearing their pipes and their throats. So lively a
some would displace all the spleen that a man
could possess, were be ever so mean; and besides,
the fuse fields were all looking so green—like the
writer of this, could be only be seen.

The success of the Company so far, is highly flat
tering. Those inusoring houses of Brick or Stone
hews paid of 1 percent.—whereas, in a Stock Com
pany they would have paid of 1 per cent.; on build
ings of Wood and expoaed, the cost of Insurance hes
been f of 1 per cent , in a Stock Company, it would
have been Ito 1 per cent. The manufacturer and
property hazardous has paid f pr. ct., in a Stock Corn
row, would have been from If to 2 per cent.
The aggregate saving to the members of the Corn
my has been at least $6OOO in premiums fur In
eiiireete.
The ability of the company to pay all losses that
cesa taceotatbly be expected, is no longer problemati
cal, sad while the capital of Stock Companies re-
UMW= stationary, the capital of this company increases
peepoction to its liabilties. In a company of this
hied, which is mutually to pay each other's losses by
fists, and at such trifling expense to each individull.
thsdirectors feel confident that owners of property
will no longer leave themselves without Insurance, but
unite in giving their support to an Institution for mu-
Sala benefit.
