lificfrucb 'Articles. We have received, says the Tall altasse Sentinel, a parcel of oranges from ••Salubrity," the plenum ion of ilincuros, in Gadsden county. These or anges show an average weight of fourteen ounces, and a circumference of a little over one foot. They lock three or four owacesof being as heavy as some from the same plantation last fall; but are larger, a more, beautiful color and finer flavor, than any foreign or- . ange we ever_sa.w. The Colonel tell, us that the en tire produce of his few trees now old enough to bear. wren the same perfection. In two or threeyears i:nould no untoward accident prevent.he will yearly have a large crop of this delicious fruit. We wish that the culture of the orange might be come more general in Middle Florilla. Thus far, our trees have been entirelytesempt from the •revages of the insect, which has destroyed show of the East.— The fruitraised would, in, any ifilightt, obtain a deci i3ea preferenceover the West Indtals orange, and we ate - confident, that with a little careand patience, our farmers might yearly derive no inconsiderable profit frnm this source. Will they direct their attention to it? or, will they still sacrifice ivory thing to the culture ers-staple, which is now, in Georgia parlance, ern phatically of "no a:count." The old Scotch farmer's advice to his son. "Be sticking up a tree, Juck, it be eye growing while ye're sleeping," is ours to our ag ricultural friends. Are we so improvident that we will teruse to plant a feet orange seeds, because we .must wait seven years fort crop? ;Something like a Bonfire.—The Democrats of Providence, Rhode Island, had a jubilee the other day, in honor of their nntional victory, and one of the newspapers of that city says they had a magnificent bonfire, composed of some fifty or sixty tar barrels "piles high up into the air, full eighty feet, which when - Area, as they were, at the &My summit, sent forth a names* if it were a monstrous torch, the light of which, but for the extreme brightness of a full moon, would havo been seen the country around fifteen miles distant. The whigs of Hartford Dave had a meeting, nt which they passed long resolves with a preamble, and had the cruelty to order them to be sent to Mr Clay. They also gave three cheers for Massachusetts,—just the number of commissioners sent to Washington by a celebrated convention, whose members, according to John Quiuey Adams, were guilty of "moral treason." The result of this trial has been to place "Duncan's Reme dy" at the bead of the patent medicines of the day. BS ITS OWN MERITS AND EXCELLENCE, it has attained a popularity exceding that of any other preparation. now offered to the public fur the preven• tion and cure of that large and frightful class of diseas es which so frequently lead to. and terminate in CONSUMPTION, It is now offered to the afflicted with confidence as the easy preparation for Coughs, Colds, &c. extant. We are warranted in assuming fur it this high charac ter, by the proofs, which we are constantly receiving, of the invaluable benefits derived from its use. Tes timonials and recommendations of the strongest kind aro constantly being received trom all quarter, by the Proprietor and Agents. In relieving cases of Asthma, Difficulty in Breathing, Pain in the Side and Breast, it is unequalled; in cur ing Brencititis, Coughs and Colds, and in short remov ing all the symptoms of approaching Pulmonary Con sumption, ITS SUCCESS HAS BEES UNPARALELLF.D No other medicine has proved itself so really inval Thousands in Pittsburgh and the vicinity, are as far as human agency is concerned, indebted to Dr. Duncan's Expectorant Remedy for prolonging life and health. Many persons after using the other cough medicines of the any without effect, have been com pletely restored by this truly GREAT DISCOVERY in the 'HEALING ART. A strong and undoubted evidence of its worth, is to be found ;n the high degree of popular favor which it has received since its introduction into the West.— Wherever an agency has been opened for its sale, and wherever it has received 'a fair and honest trial, it has become firmly established as a STANDARD. FAMILY MEDICINE. It is rapidly superseding the use of the many nos trums, which have so lon * simposed upon the communi ty, which have obtained their name only by puffing and broggadocia, and which are now destined to be thrown aside to make way for the best cough medicine of the present age. It is nut pretended that it will positively cure evety case of the disease, for which it is designed, but it is honestly believed that iu every case whore it gets a fair chance it will effect a cure. Coming, then, before the people with the highest recommendations, it is at least, worthy of a trial by all who are afflicted with any of that large and dangerous class of diseases. The following is a specimen of the numerous testi monials which we have received. It is from a PHY SICIAN of high standing in Ohio. Dear Sir—Having had occasioh to witness the ef fect of Dr. Duncan's Expectorant Remedy on Mr Eli Young in a case of Pulmonary Consumption, I felt it 'my duty to make a brief statement in order that others that are or may be afflicted with the same complaint may be benefitted by the same remedy. He was attacked with inflammation in the left lobe of the lungs in March 1843, attended with acute pain, great difficulty of breathing, and a severe cough, which proceded rapidly to suppuration: and not withstanding the use and application of the best remedies prescribed by 3Hr authors, the munplaint in a few days began to exhibit evident symptoms of ulceration. In this distressing stage of the complaint,l bad re course to Dr Duncan's Expectorant Remedy for con snmption, which had the effector chocking the disease immediately, and in a few days the pain ceased, the breathing became free and easy, the -tough left him, and the expectoration subsided, the consequences of which was that in using six bottles he has recovered his health, and is restored tohis family. 1 do het eby *rectify theabove to be true statement of my case as far as comes within my knowledge. Medicated Vapor Bath lILNRICKSON New Lebanon, Stale of New York. WORTHY FRlEND:—Having made a thorough trial of the Medicated Vavor Bath for four months past, in our societies in Now Lebanon and Watervliet, we think it but justice to state, that we consider it a valuable improvement in the healing art. Its power in reduc ing both chronic and acute inhalation, also in remov ing spasms, is certainly very great. In cases of ob structed perspiration, it is unquestionably the safest and best remedy that we have ever seen. Several persons in oar society, who were scarcely free from a catarrhal affection during most of the winter months for several years past, have found permanent relief by using the Bath a few times; and the predisposition t o take cold, as it is commonly termed, seems to be whol ly removed. Obstructed perspiration, is certainly in our changeable climate, one &the most fruitful sour ces of disease, and any remedy that is capable of re moving the predisposition to it, must be considered a great blessing to mankind; and as such we do not heal rte.te.to recommend the Medicated Vapor Bath.
