The democracy of Allegheny may well be pond of
the tretult.of the election of yesterdny. After all the

dming thousands of dollars in their efforts to blacken
the reputation uf the demtteratie candidate, they have
fdl EIGHT HUNDRED below their vutcof 18 , 41.1. and
TWENY-THREE HUNDRED below the majority
,theyeitpected. This is glory enough for the demo
crats of Allegheny, and indicaus o hat the result will
'be in other portions of the State.
The express by which we received the rcturrs was
, run by ! Mr Ito ly ratterton, and the anxiety to hear
• the vote nn Governor being so great, the riders were
instructed not to wait fur any other returns. The
rote on the balance of the ticket, however, will not •
