TUESDAY MORNING, SEPTEMBER 10.

Denocnsys Tonic OuT!—There will he a great
strug,r ( le between the wards and districts of the county,
to win the Benner that the democratic Ladies are pre
paring to present to the Workingmen on the 19th.—
Soiree of the wards am ahrody beating up their forces,
end it behooves them to gather their strength, or the
prize will be carded off from them.
Patsy BANNICK.—We wish our friends in the ad
joining counties to bear in mind that the Ladies of
Pittsburgh are preparing a magnificent Banner to pre
sent to the county that will send the largest delegation
tistlw Convention of the 19th.
It will be a costly and splendid affair and well
worth a struggle to obtain it.
tgr We observe that Mr Alhrec has taken the
black boot of his flag. Did he suppose that
the pablidwould consider it en allusion to one of the
N r .
vices of which the Gazette accused Mr Clay
The coon •lelegations came in very slowly yesterday,
and many of our whig friends thought the prospect of
a big crowd to-day rather slim. Their hope now rests
on what to-day may bring Girth.
IWThis is the day of the Great Whig Convention.
41fe will very probably have a heavy lain before night.
.which will be very interesting to the boatmen, and
preset(' the delegates that Henry Clay did not tell the
troth when be said the river at Pittsburgh was "dried
upon half the year."
SPLENDID PRIZE BANNIER!
We announced in yesterday's paper, that the patri
attic democratic Ladies were determined not to be
outdone by their fair Whig competitors, and bad made
Arrangements to present a Splendid Banner to the de•
legation of any ward of township having the largest
number of Workingmen in the procession of the 19th.
They will also present a magnificent Flag to that
county which shall send the largest delegation to the
Convention Both the Flag and Banner will be of
,at magnificent kind, superior to any that has
seen in this county. Here, democrats, is •
tb contending for—and we trust that no de
,: n will resign it without a struggle. It is the
way thatyou can attest your gtatitude t•t the La
, Dies who have so generously and patriotically pie
pared them for you.
