formation of these associations in the wards and town

the one in Peebles and some of the wards of the city.
THE CATHOLIC bixos.xutx for August, is a beanti•
ful number, and:contains much matter of interest to the
general reader. The "try able review of Mr Prescott's
Conqttest of Mexico is continued, and an interesting
notice of Mr I Webster's - speech before the Supreme
Court, in the Giratil Will Case. „Mr George Quigly,

ARRIVAL.—ME. J. Aeon. the celebrated Tra
gedian, pod personator of C. B. Parsons' characters,
has arrived in this, his native city, after an absence of
eight years, and will appear on Monday evening next,
in his favorite character of Oranaska, in Phillips'
celebrated Indian play of that name, for the benefit of

tion and treatment of deformed members, such as
Club or Reeled feel, contracted joints, wry-neck
and Strabismus or Squinting, and of Diseases of the
Eye.
There is no Institution of this kind as yet in this
country, though much needed.
Patients from a distance would find it to their ad
vantage to be operated on and to be attended to in an
establishment exclusively devoted to the restoration
of the above named deformities and diseases.
The easy access to Pittsburgh, one of the healthiest
spots in the country, by river and canal, almost at any
season of the year, would offer great facilities for
those desirous of being relieved. •
His ample experience and well known success give
sufficient guaranty that the welfare of those entrusted
