TIM CZLZHHATIONS OF Till 4TH.—The 68th anni versary of 'lndependence Day; passed off very plea santly in this neighborhood; we have no recollection of a similar occasion when there appeared to be such general enjoyment among all classes. We have never 'mown so many parties to the country as this year,and from the accounts they give of their excursions, we have no doubtthey all had a pleasant time of it. F/LlR.—The Fair in aid of the Fifth Presbrterian church will close to-night. The articles are of the ntostsuperb kind, and as it is the last chance they will have, it is to be hoped that none will neglect going.— We can wore them they will never regret it. as, to say nothing of the praiseworthy object many of the ar ticles are curiosities, and well worth seeing. We un derstand that some Canary Birds are to be sold at Auc tion to-night. Here's a chance! BOAT Recs.—A race came off on the morning of the 4th, between the Richard Biddle and the William King Barge Clubs, for $5O a side; distance 5 miles. The purse was won by the King with ease, and in good time. H• 1 PINGTON'S DIORAMAS.—There was a perfect jam at the Theatre on the 4tb. Many went away in the evening, unable to get seats. The selections made for the even ing are from the most popular English authors, and, as they will be given by Miss C., cannot fail to please all who may attend. The entertainment will be one of the most intetesting that has been given in our city this season and it should ensure a large audience.
