ILA PATENT IRON WINDOW GUARD.
"Itir the Patent. Window Guard, or Shutter, we discern
sfn article which twit fail to come into general use
from the simple reason that it proves its utility. It is
.composed of a number of iron bars, or slats. perfora
ted and so arranged ns to form a neat and ornamental
blind, and a.strong durable Shutter, well adapted to
reliar.the operations of the burglar. The perforations
adiait of the easy detection of fire, or light, within the
building (rein without. It can be opened. and closed
from within. and whoa open is quite concealed from
view, Il is designed to supply the place of both shut•
ter sal guard in common use in mercantile and other
buildings, and in every respect will evidently effect its
purP CNIe•
The following notice of this article is taken from
he Bootee- Asks, of March 1, 1844:
Tatint Winnow , Getin.—The windows in front
of the merchants' hoses, it. the Pat Office, are secured
with a neat and ornamental blind, ("Johnson's Patent
Window Guard,") a new invention, which we hope
will be brought into general use. This invention is
destined to supersede the ordinary model now in use,
for protection against fon and vogues. It is particu
larly adapted fur the windows of banks, stores, store:
houses, public buildings, &c. and is sp oken of in the
higheatterrns of praise, by gentlemen whose opinions
are entitled to the highest consideration. Mr D. D.
Btooia. of Haverhill street. has the patent right for
this Siam, and Ilse neatness and beauty of those at the
Post, Offtee. will secure to him the success which the
;invention deserves.
A perfect model of the above superior Shutter may
be seen fora few days at the counting room of James
May, Esq., where the Patentee will be pleased to ex
hibit it to workers its iron and others who may be in
actested in promoting the consumption of that article.
