Common Pleas of Allegheny county, on the 26th ult.
Mr Bally was formerly a citizen of Chester county,
and being possessed of natural abilities of the firm order
for scinntifin pursuits, by close and untiring appl
ii•n, soon ranked with the hest scholars. Ha enjoyed
a high character as an engineer, both in the employ
meat of his native State, and the General Government
daring the administration of Gen. Jackson. Having
been one of his early instructors in mathematical sci
mime, it is highly gratifying to trace one with whom we
have been intimately associated in his honorable tind
unfit' advatmemout, and our wishes attend our eally
and respected pupil in his prawn pursuit, in whitt
his talents. industry and self-Government cannot tel
