WHO Is COUNT D'OBSAT7 - 110 is the 13011 of a
French General, and is 111 X :!.x.a.ctiy forty-two years of
age. He is a very handsome specimen of manly beau
ty; and has two sisters--Duchesses De Gulch and De- -
Grime:tont, who are sprightly and beautiful women.—
, Count received an excellent education, and entered
Aso French army, where he served without distinction,
three years. He retired, and made the tour of Eu

he,met with Lord Byron, and they became intimate
friends. In 1827.1 m married Lady Harriet, the eldest
daughter of the Earl of Blessington, and again made
the grand tour. On his return to London, he became—

His first appearance at the Opera with his bride was
inblack velvet, and forthwith velvet was in demand; and
eessupktsh had a respectable advance. Since then, he
has bean remarkable for ail elegant and yet. somewhat
• capricious taste, always astonishing the town, and al
wappleasing it by his style of dress. He is an artist
of no common merit, he draws and paints well, models
and copies works in marble, is a lithographer, a gas
. troomer, a horseman of great skill, a certain shot, and

THE Influenza, which is now in almost a universal
epidemic, is exciting the inventors of patent
medicines to increased exertions in the puffing lies,
but awing to the general distrust entertained for the
generality of such drugs, people fear taking them—
The followinF,, however, from a distinguished *yip
clan in New York, Dr. Nelson, we think tatty b• tee

ornmend a single remedy, cheap and of easy access to
the poor, and to caution them against an injurious
ooe
in this disease, naniely, bleeding, either general or by
leeches. In all those cases in which the first class of
symptoms prevail, let the patient smell frequently at
a common salts bottle, (Sims' Aromatic Volatile
Salts are preferred) and by putting the vial tit the
mouth to draw a few deep inspirations of volatile mat
ter into the lungs. Let this process be repeated two
or three times in an hour, and it will give more speedy
and greater relief, in all sli , :ht cases of the first class
than any other remedy, and will be sufficient for a
cure. It will also be essentially useful in the severe
cases; and those of the class of prostration, a few
drops of amonia, or hartshorn, ouzht to taken inter
nally. A neat way of doing so is to take an old fash
ioned mixture railed lac arnmoniaci. However, it it
as a local remedy, to act on the disordered s urface,
that its use is advised. The principle , will be recog
nized by all physicians versed in molecular organize-
tion, and those who are deficient in. that knowledge
may do in that instance as they do in all others-4am
upon the faith they imbibe." These salts are for sale
