A T a sleeting of the Tailors and TaLoresses of the city
of Pittsburgh, as previously advertised, at Tempe
rance Hall, on Monday, the 17th, which was numerously
attended. The object of the meeting being stated — hrths
president, Mr. D. Wearts, which was for the purpose of .
the Ladles taking into consideration the necessity of a
small advance In their wages; their present prices being
too low to sustain nature, or at the !COSI to eke out a
miserable existence, laboring from 16 to 18 hours each
day to attain that object. It was unanimously voted by
the Ladies assembled, that they form themselves into a
Committee to wait on the ladies known. to work at the
Tailoring business in this place, stating their object, and
asking their assistance; aad that there be a maw meeting
of the ladies and gentlemen working at the tailoring bu
siness, at Temperance Hail, on Friday, 21st inst., at 3
o'clock, for the rampage of galas Into regulations that the

T HE undersigned havibg been afflicted daring the past
winter with a disease la the mantach, aometimes
Pro:Wachs' great pain In the stomach for ten or twelve
hours without intermiasten, and having tried various
remedies with little effect, was furnished with t kotue of
Dr. D. Jaynes' Carminative Balsam. Thar be used ac.
cording to the directions. andlound Invariably that this
medicine caused the pain to abate in three or four mi
nutes, and in fifteen or twenty minutes every uneasy sin.

continued to use the medicine every evening, and come
times in the morning, and In a few weeks health was so
far restored, that the sufferer was relieved from a large
