Robbery of the "Morning Po se' o,tice
Important Disclosures.—The bold spirited
plunderer who robbed our office has already
began to feel, and severely too, the twinges
of remorse. He begins to understand "that
bitter word—Repentance." From his
.gloomy and cheerless prison, the miserable
pflferer has written us a most remorseful
-epistle, in which he says he "must arid is
willing to confess that he got the articles
from a man who is now in Philadelphia. °

Wm. Clarence, the barkeeper of the Iron '
'City Hotel, who had been for a number
geysers addicted to drinking, was taken
ill on Sunday and continued bad until Mon
day night, when he beceme raving in his
bed, and big screams disrurbed the whnie
house. Yesterday morning he appeared
- somewhat better, and went to an out
.:house, where, a ishort time afterwards, he
was found &ad. The Coroner was called
in and the verdict of his jury was ' , that the
,deceased cane to his death by via:tation
.of God.'

damage. No water thrown by the engines.

17th, About 9 o'clock. the stave ki:n. near the
loot of Point street, on the bank of the Allegheny,
, caught fire, but was extinguished without
dill ally—damage 'rho Vigilant and Un
tie Sam threw water.
Same day, in the afternoon, the blacksmith
shop of Mr bong, corner of 31 and Ferry streets,
caught fire, but was extinguished without much
damage. The Allegheny, Eagle Bose, and Vigi
lant threw wa'er.
