Trial of Thorn -.Found Guilty.
The Eastern (Maine) Argus contains the
report of the trial of Thomas Thorn,charg.
ed with murder, an account of which we
gave a few days ago. The prisoner ap.
peared very depressed and uneasy. His
air of confidence and unconcern had entire
ly disappeared. He had weighing upon
his mind, incubus like, a premonition of
what' was soon to fall with solemn solenovj
nity upon his ear.

worst. His countenance did not vary
from its depressed hue, as worn when he

tion in the New Orleans Custom House
amounts to one hundred thousand dollars.
It occurred about a year ago when the
Collector was absent.
