EIMEICEM FEB RT 18, 1843 The Vigili — Lateasse.—The Fireman's A - " Ihildatlan, which met last Thursday night, Passed a resolution unanimously recom mending the Councils to give the Vigilant Enllne and apparatus to the 'new organiza • lien.' So the long agitated question is coming to a focus at last, but the tug of war ii now -approaching. The Councils will du &tuba comply with the recommendation oildie Association; but the company now in possession are resolved to hold on to what they believe their property. They contend that the city authorities have no control over the engine as s'.:e was bought by the corn 7pany. If this is so, they certainly hove the . legal right to her; to t this will be contested by the other party, who as stoutly contend ,that she is the property of the city. We may expect an appeal to Court, will ba the best resott (or a final settlement of the qleation. Both companies express their willingly - es to go into an investigation cf the matter, and seem 'eager for the fray.' We would like to gratify persons who arc fond of local eaeitemen., but w•e can hear of nothing that is calculated to create a ghastly 'grin or smile. Have patiencc, something may happen one of these du y-. We are told that a gentleman in this city is belling pieces of the trceomder the bran ches of which Wm. Penn made his cede 1-rated treaty with the Indians. He has already disposed of as much as would build a log barn. It must be a linfilab!e busi , twits. THE MARKETS CIN( INNATI. sdiat $1 73 to 12.
