lars in gold alleged to have been

K. Hackett in behalf of the defendant,
was based on tho 'wt. of 1786 providing
for the removal of actions to the Utu

General Butler, in which he, set forth,
that he was a resident of the State of
massaehusetts, and * plaintiffs restden - th r

billowing remarks:
As there is no law upon- which tilt*
motion can rest, and as it was directed
by the defendant himself, I, irtfe; that
it is made not fOr justice but fil)r „no
toriety. I proposed to Gen. 'Bufler,, in'
writing, that he should select his •dwii
court and his own counsel, and that it
would bring an amicable snit in any
tribunal of his own-el:witty; toidetermine
the rights of this case. He declined any

coin, belonging to the plaintiffs; and in

kept to this hour; and for breaking up
and destroying the businese of the
plaintiff's, by thus forcibly" depriving
