TO ALL cONCP:ItNED.—
Aitiong a certain elasS ot self-important
pert
pie there is a peculiar feeling of contempt attach
ed to all physicians that advertise and treat the
disensesnamed in this card, ( PRI VAT81)1:: it s In s )
Why this should be, they nor no one else can tell.
Are they not aware that all physicians treat dis
eases of every denomination, in fact_solicit Just
the very diseases that are so ohnoxious to these
very refined parties. I suppose they would not
-let one of their family go to a party that has de
voted years for their ben,,;t. boos,, me lie adverti
ses the fact, and their family physician says he is
a humbug so he can get the Case. (Jaen he has
almost deprived the party of his life. lie conies
at last to the physician that advertises—how glee
are they to know I Are they not aware that. Sir
Astley Cooper, Sir Benjamin Brodie, Sir Charles
Ball and M. Paul Eicord devoted years in the
treatment of these diseases? These men ate held
up as shining In the medical world • I don't
assert that men are worthy that publish, still
there are a great number of them that are. I have
devoted myself to the study and treatment of
Ptuvamt Disit.a.sz.s upwards of 40 years, and
without egotism can say I have saved hundreds
from years of misery and untimely death. lily
treatment is confined to the vegetable altogeiher,
as I think it is the beet and most certain. it is in
my power to bring hundreds of certificates if I
thought it necessary to certify to my general elle
seas :but toy long residence in this city is suffi
cient proof without adding more. Sperm at orrnes
and all diseases arising from it are cured in a
Much Shorter time than heretofore. It behooves
'every young man and woman to be careful in se
lecting a physician. The different advertisements
that are seen in our papers are of no worth, and
no benefit will arise from answers than only loss
of health and money. Hundreds are cured annu
ally by my new remedies. Address BOX Wu.

Conquest!
;Conquest!
Conquest! what a word to appear irt
;he history of free America, in reference!
,o one part of the same country,over an
other part, once,fraternally united under!
the same Constitution as States, inde
pendent of each other, excepting through
the bond of the Constitutiim formed byl
free consent and not by force] What al
reversal of things is this conquest?
Without such entire reversal, we ` can;
not hold States in the bondage of subju4
gation. In the wildest flight of imagd
nation, could any virtuous and enlight-I
ened Anierican Statesman, have con
ceived the idea -of one-half the United!
States, or "States 'united" on equal;
terms, be bold in political bondage, by;
the other half, by subjugation and con
quest? And this under • the pretext of!
giving personal freedom to an inferior
' , race, imported chiefly, and sold as slaves;
and barbarians, by 'the conquering'
States, to the conquered, the former in!
this religious war of conquest, still Ob
taining the price of the purchase! If they
are in the hands of Providence, • Wei
avengers of a great iniquity, they are
themselves sharers in that iniquity. But;
they are sharers 'in the expense of the
blood and' treason of the' war—at the
same time,• that they did not force its!
extent, nor where it would:fall; but Ab--!
olition haslargely rtharelliii the profits,
while !thosp who haVe iiot shared in
their interest or passion, have fought the
f
battles of the Union, or rather of the con
quest!
A Conquered country, is- an enslaved
country; witness Ireland; witness Po
land, witness Hungary, witness Spanish
America, redueed to, political, and worse
than personal bondage' with the tradi
tions of freedom in their hearts. It was
for the priceless boon of political liberty,
that our revolutionary fathers shed their
blood in our war of independence. It
was for political liberty they fought and
bled. He that has been born and bred
as 'a menial slave must continue as a
slave until his nature is changed by
time, and the habits of freedom. A
menial alone; can work a sudden trans
formation from bodily slavery to free
ddm. ,The circumstances of the slave,
may be changed, but he will stall be a
slave to some one in reality, whether it I
be by the 'Southern or the Yankee.
Now that the encl or altmor real object
of this "cruel war," is proclaimed with
out
concealment, and that it is to be for
The political slavery, subjugation, or an
nihilation, of our once brethren of the
South, let us look a little at its future in
detail. Let as look at its consequences
to the conqueror as well as to the cdn
quered, at least, according to the plans
of that great. political, and military
mountebank, the chief magistrate of the
people, and commander-in-chief of the
army , . If the conqbest has cost a mil

of dollars, how much will it cost to re
