The following notices of the Press of this city will readily show its superiority over all others as to strength, , What the Public Ledger says— AN IMPROVEMENT IN BooE:S.—Photograph Albums have become as indispensable as Photo graph likenesses. Altemus bt Co., have just .eompleted their new patented etmliauous Ainge La, A album, which they are now delivering to the trade, being the most complete and substan ti.,l book made. The trouble with moat albums 01 this kind Is that the leaves, secured by the oroinary way to the back of the book, are liable to break way. By this new method, each sep arate leaf turns on a neat, easily working hinge, so that there Is no strain whatever upon the back of the book, and the leaves remain perfect ly seettre - within the covers. What the dater. Lit. Gazette and Publishers Cir cular says— THE PROTOGRAPIEL Aintru. Hinged Back, patented July 21, 1863. Manufactured by Alte r:lUß & Co., Philadelphia. In this patent binding each leaf la attached to a small rod covered with morocco, fotniing a separate hinge of its own, admitting the book to be opened to its full extent without danger of the slightest iniury. This ingenious invention cannot fail to' e uni versally approved, as It com bines utility with beauty. The annals of female crime and fraud during the' past quartet a:)f a century scarcely present a parallel case. Her operations have been distinguished by a boldness, a dash of roreance,.and, until recently, by an unvarying, success at once surprising and evincing talent of a high order, worthy of a better pse. She is deseribed asyOung in appearance,' not over thirty years of age, a - hand some and peculiarly attractive manners. She has resided from childhOod in Monroe county, and, until her recent arrest, has moved in, good circles, where her respectability has been undoubted.
