This terrible visitation, following the
still more terrible plague,' was 'made the

Guerrilla - Outtageti.—lt having been
reported to Major General Thomas that
a wagon, which had become detached
from a foraging train belonging to his
army at Chattanooga, was attacked by a
party of guerrillas, and three of the
guards captured, murdered and throwu
into the river, he has ordered that the
property of all rebel citizens living with

the men were captured tithe assessed,
each in his due proportion:accordinA to .

thousand dollars, to be divided among
the families who were dependent upon
the murdered men for swot; as fol

The Blockaders off Wilmington.
—A gentleman direct froth Wilmington
reports that the t nem y have twenty-six
vessels blockading that port. These
vessels are scattered for a mile or two
off the mouth of the Cape Fear, and guard
all the avenues of approach with the
most sleepless vigilance. The cop se _
quences are that the chances of running
the blockade have been Featly lessened,
and it is a ppreheniltdbyteontethatthe day
is not far distant when it will be an im
possibility for a vessel to get into that
port without induiaing. a hazard almost
equivalent to positive loss. Having se
cured nearly every seaport on uur coast,
