hast received e ietter from the Pope on tie;
subject of the Americandiffioulties/urgiiij
peace, and desiring him to confer with the
j Archbishop at New Orleans, iu .pursu
ance of the object. The New York Tab
let, which publishes the letter in the orig--
mal Latin, states that it is the dnplicate of
a letter adduced to the same prelate,
under date of Oct. 18, 1862, bat which
mast have been lost, as it never reached
its destination: I
