Remarks—The weather eontiimesdelightful
for out-door transactions, and certain kinds of
business are improving. Our rivers are again
falling, hut there is plenty of water for alrordi

The ruiners that were in circulation in regard to
the destruction of the oil wells on the Kanawha
have been confirmed. The rebels yet tire to the
promisee, destroyed machinery, set fire to the
wells and played smet:ll generally. A num
ber of our eitirens were largely interested in
thesowells which have been destroyed by a band
of Jelf.Dayis' cut throats. There is a good time
coming; we will not have to wait long. Bacon
