Cotton is becom ing so scarce that some article must be substituted for it. Our fathers and moth ers formerly slept between linen sheets, used towels and tablecloths; and we must do the same. Besides, an immense quan tity of bagging, ropes, &c. will also be wanted. An acre of gocaland. will yield about ten bushels . of seed s and a ton and a half to two tons of straw. The former is now selling at $8 26 per bushel, and we understand that it is in contemplation to erect Machinery in our State that will make a market for the straw. The farm ers threw away great quantities of straw the past season, thus making a great waste. The land should be prepared the same as for oats, and the seed should be sown about the first of April. din Select.
