[WORLAND'S GERMAN SITTERS.
From J. Newfort Brown, D. D., Editor of the En
cyclopedia :44f Religious Knowledge.
Although not disposed to favor or recommend=
Patent hiediliinas in general, through distruirt of
their ingrediants and effects: I yet know of no
sufficient reason why a man may not testify to the
benefit he believes himself to have received from
any simple preparation in the hope that he may
thus contriblite to the benefit of others.
I do this the more readily in regard to Hoof=
land's German Bitters, prepared by Dr. C. M.
Jackson, of this city, because I was prejudiced
sgainstthemlfor many years, under the mores
!ion that theywere chiefly an alcoholic, mixture,
lam indebted to my friend Robert Shoemaker,:
Eeei ~for She removal of this Prejudice by nronof
eesta and- orl!enocnragement to try them, w hen
suffering frera great and long continued debility.
inning f three Presentf thes
e Bitters, at the
top of the year. was followed by
evident relief, and restoration to a degree of
sodily and mental vigor which I had not felt for
ix months before, and had almost depaired of re
aining. I thbrefore thank God and my friend for
lirecting me to the W3O citthem.

egarding the rinurtice as out of my aPPrepriate

in my owh of the usefulness of Dr. Roof
land's Germait;Bitters, I depart from my usual
course, to express my full conviction that for
general debility' of thesysteru, and especially Liv
er Complandit is a'safe and valuable preparation.
In some cases it may fail, but usually I doubt not
t will be very ;beneficial to those who suffer from
